こちらの米の件について、先の手紙の後、急に売れ行きが悪くなったため、外国米
などの払い下げがあり、特に御蔵が次々と値下がりし、何かと最近は不
人気で様子見をしております。しかし諸方面で高値の風聞もあり、当てにならず投機
する人も少なく、その他餅や雑穀類も味が悪く、なお今後どうなることか
と思っております

and such were sold off, particularly the government storehouses have been dropping in price one after another, and recently everything is un-
popular so we are watching the situation. However, there are rumors of high prices from various quarters, which are unreliable, and there are few specu-
lators, and besides, rice cakes and miscellaneous grains are also of poor taste, so we wonder what will happen
