金子着類等取候よし右之者召捕ニ相成候よし
一人は歩員之よし弐人は二本松之浪人之よし
此節穀町玄米両壱斗弐参升種弐斗三四升
麦 弐斗前後 から麦 四斗五升
府中辺は種壱斗六七升之よし
当月初山形村ニ而人殺之一条追々承り候へは
山形宿より少々引込居候所之よし娘え聟を取
子迄も有之候者ニ候へ共平日放湯ニ而博奕を
好心立不宜養父は少々金も有之者ニ付度々金
子を無心致シわけなく遣ひ捨又々金子七両貸
呉候様申候ニ付養父異見を申 借（マヽ）不申候処両三
日過候而養父を談合度義有之趣ニ而呼出候ニ
付養父も日頃用心いたし棒ヲ付し同道いたし
参候所余程連行程よき所ニ而申出候は先日御
咄申候金子是非無拠筋ニ而入用ニ候間貸呉候
様又々申候ニ付親を是迄連出此所ニおゐて又
々申出候段あまりなる致方と申立腹之あまり
右之棒ヲ【「而」を見せ消ち】以はたき候所聟右之棒ヲ取返し養
父ヲ一打ニゑりもとゟ肩のあたりヲかけ厳敷
打候ニ付崖の所え到れ候所ヲ又々打候而打殺
現代語訳
金子や着類等を取ったとのことで、右の者を召し捕ることになったとのこと。
一人は足軽とのこと、二人は二本松の浪人とのこと。
この節、穀町では玄米が一斗二、三升、種籾が二斗三、四升
麦は二斗前後、唐麦は四斗五升
府中辺りは種籾が一斗六、七升とのこと。
当月初めに山形村で人殺しの一件があり、追々聞いているところでは、
山形宿より少々引っ込んだ所にいるとのことで、娘に婿を取り
子供まで有する者であったけれども、平日は放蕩で博打を
好み心立てが良くない。養父は少々金も有する者につき、度々金
子を無心し、訳もなく使い捨て、又々金子七両を貸し
てくれるよう申したので、養父が異見を申し、借さない旨申したところ、二、三
日過ぎて養父を「談合したい義がある」との趣で呼び出した。
そのため養父も日頃用心して棒を持参し、同道して
参ったところ、余程連れて行かれ、程よい所で申し出たのは「先日お
話し申した金子、是非やむを得ない筋で入用なので貸して
ください」と又々申したので、「親をここまで連れ出して、この所において又々申し出る段、あまりにひどい仕方だ」と申し、立腹のあまり
右の棒で叩いたところ、婿が右の棒を取り返し、養
父を一打ちに襟元から肩の辺りにかけて厳しく
打ったので、崖の所へ倒れたところを又々打って打ち殺した

At the beginning of this month, there was a murder case in Yamagata village, and from what I have gradually heard,
it occurred at a place somewhat withdrawn from Yamagata post station. The perpetrator had taken a daughter-in-law and
even had children, but he was dissolute in his daily life, fond of gambling,
and of poor character. Since his adoptive father was a man of some means, he frequently
begged him for money, spending it carelessly, and again asked to borrow
seven ryō. When the adoptive father remonstrated with him and refused to lend the money, two or three
days later he called out his adoptive father under the pretext of "having something to discuss."
Therefore, the adoptive father, being always cautious, brought a stick and accompanied
him. After being led quite far to a suitable spot, the son-in-law said, "Regarding the money I
spoke of the other day, I absolutely need it for unavoidable reasons, so please lend it to me."
When he made this request again, the adoptive father said, "To drag your parent all the way here and make this request again at this place is an outrageous way to behave," and in his anger
struck him with the stick. The son-in-law then seized the stick and
severely struck the adoptive
father from the collar to the shoulder area in one blow,
causing him to fall toward a cliff, where he struck him again and killed him.
