現代語訳
上州辺りでは大豆が大当たり、畑一反歩につき三石位の取り上がり、一両に三斗五、六升、玄米一斗七升。水戸城下では玄米一斗四、五升。
異人が大山石尊へ四人で登山したところ、その御山の御師が立って登山を止めたけれども聞き入れず登った。中程まで登ったところ、その内二人はまったく見えなくなり、残りの両人は手足などがちぎれて木の枝にかかっていたとのこと。警固の人が同道していたけれども、いつの間にか見えなくなったのか、よく分からないとのこと。

英語訳
In the Jōshū region, soybeans had an excellent harvest, yielding about 3 koku per tan of farmland, selling at 3 to 5 to 6 shō per ryō, brown rice at 1 to 7 shō. In Mito castle town, brown rice was 1 to 4 to 5 shō.
Four foreigners climbed Mount Ōyama Sekison, where the mountain's oshi (shrine guide) stood and tried to prevent their ascent, but they did not listen and climbed anyway. When they reached about halfway up, two of them completely disappeared, and the remaining two had their limbs torn off and were hanging from tree branches. Guard personnel accompanied them, but at some point they also disappeared—it's unclear exactly what happened.
