英語訳
The construction that had come was completely destroyed to dust, and two foreigners
died, becoming like mud, it is said.
From around this summer, sacred amulets from Ise Shrines and Nikkō began falling in various places in the Kamigata region,
it was said, but recently they have been falling continuously in Kyoto and Osaka, and even
along the Tōkaidō, Nakasendō, and Shinshū regions, it is said. People from nearby provinces and villages where they fell

and Ōmi regions, men and women of all ages wear branch-patterned tenugui towels, with plain red
hakama and golden three-shaku sashes over their garments, and with bleached tenugui towels sing "nandemo yoi yoi" while dancing and walking. Along the Tōkaidō route, even when daimyo pass up and down or when ordered to sit in deference, they pay no attention at all and
sing "nandemo yoi yoi" in large groups while dancing and walking. No matter how they try to restrain
them, they do not listen, and if restrained too harshly, the large groups will push forward
while dancing and making a commotion. Even the great daimyo lords cannot reprimand them,
and all pass by laughing, it is said.
In Osaka, plain red tenugui towels and golden chirimen crepe goods are completely out
of stock, with orders placed to Edo, but Edo is also sold out, it is said. In Osaka
with sixty monme of silver, one tan of plain red costs fifty-eight or nine monme, chirimen
