（前頁より続き）じっくりと思うに、連城（れんじょう）の珍宝（ちんぽう）や夜光の璧（へき）も、いたずらに箱に収めておけば、世にその光を放つことがない。このゆえに、（百首の）言葉の意味を注釈し、画図（絵）にあらわし、守武神主の系譜を記し肖像を載せて、これを版木に彫って広く子どもたちの学びの助けとすれば、まことに忠孝の道しるべとなるであろうと思い、講古堂において校正を終えた。

(Continued from the previous page) Reflecting deeply upon this matter: even the rare treasure of the Linked-City jade (*Renjo no chinpo*) and the night-luminous *bi*-disk, if stored away uselessly in a box, will shed no light upon the world. For this reason, I have annotated the meaning of the words, rendered them in illustrations, recorded the genealogy of Shrine Master Moritake and included his portrait, and had the whole carved onto woodblocks so that it might be widely available as an aid to the learning of young children. Surely this will serve as a guidepost along the way of loyalty and filial piety — with this conviction, the proofreading was completed at Kōkodō.
