また、まものの大綱も十筋ほど持たせるべきである。用いることが多いからである。乱杭なども持たせることはもっともなことである。
《第十》黒鍬のこと
▲将たる人は、鍬を黒塗りにして、五百挺も千挺も準備しておくものである。進軍前方の道を作り、また小屋取り・仕寄など万事に用いる。道行きには足軽三人に黒鍬の人足一人ずつを割り当てるとよいと言われている。
《第十一》弓・鉄砲五人組のこと
▲弓・鉄砲（の組）五人に一人ずつ奉行を付け、道行きに

はその奉行が行儀（行動の規律）を言い聞かせる。また五人のうち用事があって脇へ行く者があれば、その者の弓や鉄砲を右の奉行が持つ。その者が戻ってきた時には返し渡す。さて鉄砲を撃たせる時は、この奉行が薬込め（装填）の手伝いをする。万事によい。
《第十二》一夜陣のこと
▲小屋はできる限り手軽に構えるものである。翌日の撤収が容易であるようにするのがよい。二、三日も逗留する場所においては、念を入れてしっかりと小屋取りすることが肝要である。

《Section Ten》 On Black-Lacquered Hoes (Kurokuma)
▲ A commander should prepare hoes lacquered in black, keeping five hundred or even a thousand of them in readiness. They are used to build roads ahead of the advancing force, as well as for constructing encampments, building siege approaches (shiyori), and all manner of tasks. It is said that on the march, one black-hoe laborer should be assigned to every three foot soldiers (ashigaru).
《Section Eleven》 On Five-Man Groups of Archers and Gunners
▲ One supervisor (bugyō) is to be assigned to every five archers or gunners. On the march,

this supervisor shall instruct them in proper conduct and discipline. Furthermore, should any one of the five need to step aside for personal business, the supervisor holds that person's bow or firearm. When the person returns, it is handed back. When the time comes to fire the guns, this supervisor assists with the powder-loading (tamegome). This arrangement is beneficial in all respects.
《Section Twelve》 On One-Night Encampments
▲ Temporary shelters should be constructed as lightly and simply as possible. It is best to arrange them so that they may be cleared away easily the following day. In places where one is to remain for two or three days, it is essential to take care and construct the encampment solidly.
