陣取の巻
【第一】大軍・小軍と地形についての事
▲大軍が狭い地形に陣を取れば、人数の手配りや動き（運用）のために都合が悪く、小軍が広い地形に陣を取れば、まばらになって、詰めたり開いたりすることに疲弊する。そのうえ、兵の多少を見透かされてしまい都合が悪い。いずれにせよ、その場所の地形をよく見定めることが肝要である。

【Article 1】Concerning large armies, small armies, and terrain
▲If a large army takes up position in a narrow terrain, the deployment and movement of troops will be hindered. If a small army occupies a wide terrain, its forces will be spread thin, becoming fatigued from repeatedly closing and opening ranks. Furthermore, the size of one's forces will be easy for the enemy to discern, which is highly disadvantageous. In any case, it is best to carefully survey and assess the terrain of the location.
