現代語訳
このようなことになれば自然と相場を買い上げるようになり、運賃も
とても増加する場合に至り、売買取引については
互角であるとはいうものの、結局は値上がりの基となり、
下々が迷惑する筋があり、諸物価下落を仰せ付けられた御趣旨に障り、
不安である次第で、別して如何なものかと存じます。したがって杜秤については、
公儀からも御究明があり、善四郎杜秤を用いるよう仰せ付けられた
こともあり、かたがた不正な重目杜秤等を用いないよう、
売買筋に携わる者へきっと申し付けるべきです。万一この
申し付けを守らない者があり、明らかになった場合には、厳しい咎めを
申し付ける方法もあることですから、この趣旨をそちら共の組村、
浦に漏れないよう急々触れ知らせるべきです。もっとも組切一紙の
請書を提出すべきです。以上

この通り御触れを出されましたので、心得違いの仕業がないよう各村々に
漏れないよう触れ知らせ、御趣意を畏れ多く承る旨の御受書を提

When this happens, prices will naturally be bid up, and transportation costs will
greatly increase as well. While buying and selling transactions may
appear to be on equal terms, ultimately this becomes the basis for price increases,
causing hardship for the common people, and obstructing the official policy
of lowering prices on various goods, which is most concerning and
particularly problematic. Therefore, regarding scales,
there have been official investigations by the government, and there have been
cases where orders were given to use Zenshiro scales.
For all these reasons, those engaged in buying and selling must be strictly ordered
not to use fraudulent heavy-weighted scales. Should anyone
fail to obey these orders and this becomes evident, there are
methods of imposing severe punishment. Therefore, this directive must be
urgently communicated to your group villages and
coastal settlements without omission. Of course, a written
acknowledgment from each group must be submitted. The above.

As this directive has been issued, we were ordered to notify each village
without omission so that there would be no misguided actions, and to submit
written acknowledgments stating our reverent acceptance of the official intent.
