形を忍ひ候子細承糺候者之外一宗寺院
に而は入宗致す僧侶人別に不相成もの弟子に
致す間敷尤弟子取致候節尤宗勤仕
之ものを證人に可相立元来普化禅宗の
唱臨済之支流故専ら禅気相守武門
隠家あるひは身元難顕抔と申唱候筋に
無之向後真実の虚無僧而已に致し宗
縁助吹之名目一切相止執行崎之義も
都而諸宗僧侶同様志次第の施物を
受相勤を以穏便に止宿致し御用向抔と
申唱あるひはねたりケ間敷義に致間敷候
一宗之者へ申渡置候間此上不法のもの
有之候得は其所に留置き早々其筋々へ
可訴出候
右之趣御領私領寺社領へも不相洩
様可被相触候

現代語訳
形を隠している詳細な事情を承知し調べた者以外は、一宗の寺院においては入宗する僧侶を人別に加えないものを弟子にしてはならない。もっとも弟子を取る際は、もっぱら宗務に勤仕する者を証人に立てるべきである。元来普化禅宗は臨済の支流を唱えるゆえ、もっぱら禅の気風を守り、武門の隠居や身元を明かし難い者などと称する筋ではない。今後は真実の虚無僧のみとし、宗縁・助吹の名目は一切やめ、托鉢の義についても、すべて諸宗の僧侶と同様に志次第の施物を受け、相応の勤めをもって穏便に止宿し、「御用向き」などと称したり、ねだりがましい義をしてはならない。一宗の者へ申し渡しおいた間、この上不法の者がある場合は、その所に留め置き、早々にその筋筋へ訴え出るべきである。
右の趣旨は御領・私領・寺社領へも漏れないよう相触れるべきである。

[continued from previous page] Except for those whose circumstances of concealing their true form have been acknowledged and investigated, temples of this sect shall not take as disciples any monks entering the sect who are not registered in the population records. Moreover, when taking disciples, one must establish as guarantors those who are devoted exclusively to religious duties. Originally, the Fuke Zen sect claims to be a branch of Rinzai, so it should exclusively maintain the Zen spirit, and should not be a path for retired military men or those who claim they cannot reveal their identities. Henceforth, only true komusō shall be permitted, and the designations of "religious connection" and "assistant blowing" shall be completely discontinued. Regarding mendicant practices, like monks of all other sects, they shall receive offerings according to donors' intentions, conduct appropriate religious duties, and lodge peacefully. They shall not claim "official business" or engage in improper solicitation. Since this has been announced to members of this sect, if there are any lawbreakers from now on, they shall be detained at that location and promptly reported to the appropriate authorities.
The above instructions shall be communicated to government domains, private domains, and temple/shrine territories without omission.
