申上添書之覚
盆中踊之義来る十四ゟ十六日迄有来通
之義是迄之通可仕候尤其村限に而他郷へ
出候義は屹と指留候俄と相唱哥舞妓体に
相似寄候仕成は決而不相調事に候条右三日
過相催義厳布指留候条心得違之者
於有之は其者は勿論処役人共屹と
咎申付候条逸々相触人別請判取置
追而御郡代所へ可指出旨被仰付奉畏与村々
相触候処奉畏旨御請書指出候に付取揃

現代語訳
申し上げ添書の覚
盆中踊りの件について、来る十四日から十六日まで従来通り
の件については、これまで通り行ってよろしい。ただしその村限りにて他郷へ
出ることは固く差し止める。俄かに唱歌舞踊の体に
似寄った仕方は決して調えてはならないことである。よって右三日
過ぎて催すことは厳重に差し止めるので、心得違いの者が
もしいた場合は、その者はもちろん、村役人共も固く
咎めを申し付けるので、逐一相触れ、人別請判を取り置き、
追って御郡代所へ提出するよう仰せ付けられ、畏れ入ると村々に
相触れたところ、畏れ入る旨の御請書を差し出したので取り揃えて
差し上げます。以上

Memorandum of Supplementary Submission
Regarding the matter of Bon dancing, from the coming 14th to 16th day, following
the customary practice as it has been done until now is acceptable. However, going beyond that village to other localities
is strictly prohibited. Suddenly performing songs and dances resembling
theatrical entertainment is absolutely not to be arranged. Therefore, holding such events beyond those three days
is strictly prohibited, and should there be anyone who misunderstands these instructions,
not only that person but also the village officials will be strictly
reprimanded. We have been ordered to notify everyone individually, obtain written acknowledgments from each person,
and later submit them to the District Magistrate's office. When we notified the villages
that this was to be reverently observed, they submitted written acknowledgments stating their reverent compliance, so we have compiled them
and submit them herewith. The above.
