御国産傘去る亥年紙方御役場に
為試取都以来職方之者共相励早柄相
応出来直段も下料に付今度御国産傘
御蔵物に相立候事に候随而一筆相用候得者右に
相携者共渡世之一助にも相成且は他国へ
金銭相洩不申一牧融通にも相成候に付市中
幷撫養四軒屋町富岡町他国傘直仕入
之義は御指留被仰付候事に候尤外々におゐては
直仕入仕候筈は無之候得とも万一不心得之者
無之様其段諸事為試去亥年以来
之通被仰付義に候間御国中一牧被触知候
但兼而於市郷買込有之候他国傘
員数紙方御役所へ可為申出候以上
右之通御触被遊候に付村々相触奉畏旨
御受書指出候様被仰付奉畏夫々相触候所
御触之趣奉畏旨申出候に付私共連判
現代語訳
辰四月四日
国産の傘について、去る亥年に紙方御役場で
試作して以来、職人たちが励み早く仕上げ、品質に
応じて出来上がり、値段も安価になったので、今度国産傘を
御蔵物に指定することになりました。従って一本使用すれば、それに
携わる者たちの生計の一助にもなり、かつ他国へ
金銭が流出することもなく、一国内での融通にもなるので、市中
並びに撫養四軒屋町・富岡町では他国産傘の直接仕入れ
については御指し止めを仰せ付けられることになります。もっとも他の地域においては
直接仕入れをする予定はありませんが、万一心得違いの者が
いないよう、その点について諸事試作の去る亥年以来の
通りに仰せ付けられる義なので、御国中一国に触れ知らせなさい。
ただし、以前から市郷で買い込んである他国産傘の
員数は紙方御役所へ申し出ること。以上
右の通り御触れが出されたので、村々に相触れ畏れ入る旨の
御受書を差し出すよう仰せ付けられ畏れ入り、それぞれに触れた所、
御触れの趣旨を畏れ入る旨申し出たので、私ども連判で

Regarding domestically produced umbrellas, since the trial production at the Paper Office
in the previous year of the Boar, the craftsmen have worked diligently to complete them quickly,
producing quality goods at affordable prices. Therefore, domestic umbrellas will now be
designated as official storehouse goods. Consequently, using even one umbrella will
help support the livelihood of those involved in their production, and moreover, money will not
flow out to other domains, creating better circulation within our own domain. Therefore, in the urban areas
as well as Muya Shikenyamachi and Tomioka-machi, direct purchasing of umbrellas from other domains
is hereby prohibited by official order. Although other areas
are not expected to make direct purchases anyway, to ensure there are no misunderstandings,
this matter shall be handled in the same manner as the trial production since the year of the Boar,
so this notice shall be disseminated throughout the entire domain.
However, umbrellas from other domains that have already been purchased in urban and rural areas
must be reported to the Paper Office regarding their quantities. The above.
As this official notice has been issued, we were ordered to notify the villages and submit
acknowledgment documents expressing our compliance. We humbly complied and notified each area.
