仕上御請書之覚
土州高郡波川村百姓清太郎人殺疑念
相懸候者之儀に付彼御国致穿鑿居候中
他之御領江立出候義も難計に付則形体書左之通
旨を以若右体之者御国内へ忍入居候はゝ指押
呉候様彼地郡御奉行ゟ頼来候条右様相心得
面々与村浦逸々念入遂詮儀見当候はゝ懸留置
番人付置早速申出候様相触可申候猶来月廿日迄に
有無共与切壱紙書付を以可申出候此状急々
刻付を以急々相廻済村ゟ可指戻候以上

現代語訳
差し上げた御請書の覚え
土佐国高郡波川村の百姓清太郎が人殺しの疑いを
かけられている者の件について、その御国で取り調べを行っている最中に
他の御領分へ逃げ出すことも計り知れないため、則ち人相書を左の通り
という趣旨で、もし右のような者が御国内へ忍び込んでいるならば取り押さえて
くださるよう、その地の郡御奉行より依頼してきましたので、右のように心得て
面々と村浦に逐一念入りに詮議を遂げ、見当たりましたならば拘留し置き
番人を付け置いて早速申し出るよう触れ申すべきです。なお来月20日までに
有無ともに組ごとに一紙の書付をもって申し出るべきです。この文書は急々
刻限付きで急々回覧し、済み村より指し戻すべきです。以上

Regarding the matter of Seitarou, a peasant from Namikawa Village in Taka District of Tosa Province, who is suspected of murder,
while investigations are being conducted in that province,
since it is unpredictable that he might flee to other domains, a physical description is provided as follows.
If such a person should sneak into your province, we request that you apprehend him.
This request comes from the district magistrate of that area, so please take note of this and
conduct thorough investigations in each village and coastal area. If he is spotted, detain him,
assign guards, and report immediately. Furthermore, by the 20th of next month,
whether found or not, each district group must submit a written report on one sheet of paper. This document is urgent
and must be circulated quickly with a time limit, and returned from each completed village. The above.
