早々つくばい可罷在筈に候所心得違之者多く
有之様相見候就而は御山下渡舟に乗候得は
仮令諸士分乗組不申迚もつくばい居申
候様兼々相心得可申事
但大勢乗居申節跡より込乗候義は
屹と仕間敷候事
市郷丁稚陸尺之類渡舟に而不法之体有之
渡守ゟ遠慮之儀申聞候得は却而立腹
仕候体抔も相見如何之事に候右様之儀無
之様召使主人ゟ兼々厚申付候様相心得
可申事
川舟乗違之儀船頭共常々厚相心得船
乗違候節諸士舟と見受候得は乗行候儀
遠慮仕乗当り候儀無之様相心得可申事
一舟着場之儀人々勝手而已考不心得之仕方
毎々有之候屹と除令乗着候様相心得可申事
一穢多之儀は天保二卯年左書之通り取究
現代語訳
早々つくばって控えているはずであるところ、心得違いの者が多くいるように見受けられる。ついては御山下の渡舟に乗る場合は、たとえ諸士分が乗り組まない場合でも、つくばって控えているよう、かねがね心得申すべきこと
但し大勢が乗っている節に後から込み入って乗ることは、きっと仕るまじきこと
市郷の丁稚や陸尺の類が渡舟にて不法の体があり、渡守から遠慮の義を申し聞かされると、かえって立腹する体なども相見え、いかがなことである。右様の儀が無きよう、召し使う主人から、かねがね厚く申し付けるよう心得申すべきこと
川舟の行き違いの儀について、船頭どもは常々厚く心得、舟の行き違いの節に諸士の舟と見受けた場合は、乗り行く儀を遠慮し、乗り当たることが無きよう心得申すべきこと
一、舟着き場の儀について、人々が勝手ばかり考え、心得のない仕方が毎々あり、きっと順序よく乗り降りするよう心得申すべきこと
一、穢多の儀は天保二卯年、左書の通り取り究め

They should quickly crouch down and wait respectfully, however there appear to be many who misunderstand proper conduct. Therefore, when boarding ferries at the foot of the mountain, even if samurai are not boarding, one should understand to crouch down and wait respectfully at all times.
However, when many people are already aboard, pushing in to board from behind is absolutely forbidden.
Regarding shop apprentices and porters from towns and villages who display improper behavior on ferries, when the ferryman advises them about showing restraint, they instead become angry, which is quite problematic. To prevent such behavior, masters who employ them should understand to give strict instructions beforehand.
Regarding the matter of river boats passing each other, boatmen should always be well aware, and when boats pass each other, if they recognize a samurai's boat, they should refrain from proceeding and understand to avoid collisions.
