もすな灰で撒くべし。表塀が破られても内の竹束塀で防げるようにすべし。
一 塀の上に幕を張り矢切とすることもある。この時は塀に床を掻き、その上を武者走とする。
《去り松明》
一 去り松明の事。予め堀底へ塀から縄を張って置くべし。その縄にまた別の縄に滑車もよく、ただ松明を結び付けて上げ下ろしをして、夜の内にさいさい堀底を見るのである。
一 夜回り、聞き回りと同じ前の事。
一 城攻めには夜々仕寄せに竹束を付け寄せる。仕寄せの穴を掘っても行く所に寄せるべし。穴掘り様は横矢が無きようにあるべし。
《竹束の付け方》
一 竹束を付けることは、杭を振りそれにもたせ掛け、入り違いをして人数が出入りするように口をするのである。竹束は鳥羽のように二重程立て掛けて、矢狭間を切るべし。
一 竹束は初めと、また後で仕出しする。竹束の間は人数の多少によって五間も十間にもする。
《竹束の拵え方》
一 竹束の束ね方は軽々と持てるように七所結び申す。また五所でもよい。常の束程にして軽々と持ち、また伐木にても仕寄せする。
一 上は鉄砲を掛け、狭間一つに何丁と鉄砲の多少に依るべし。堀の上同前、上へ人が上がる所を撃つためである。
《堀の掘り方》
一 堀の掘り方は横矢を本とする。見込み無きように虎口を取り隠し、曲がりが多きを本とする。ただし左勝手は敵を後にする故、城中の射手が後ろを覚束なく思って存分にならないものである。右勝手の虎口であれば敵を前々に見て打つ撃つする故に心安く働くものなり。
一 潜りの事。敵と叩き合い取り込む時、後ろが広ければ城から出た人の後ろ
