【右丁・欄外上】
細葉梛
白斑は芽先で春に葉が出た後は斑が出ないといわれるが、稀な奇品である。またとない品で、夏頃に著しくなる。
・浅黄縞梛は芽先が白く雪を帯びたようで、格別見事な品である。
・丸葉梛は葉が厚く黒く光りがあって、極めて白い覆輪より出る古今無類の名木である。
水野翁より出るこの一木、枝変わりの他にも唐・大和の奇品が限りなくあるといえども、一位二位の位置付けが難しい品である。まだ他へ出していない。

Narrow-leaf nagi (Nageia nagi)
The white variegation appears at the shoot tips, and though it is said that variegation does not appear after the spring leaves emerge, this is a rare curiosity. It is an incomparable specimen that becomes prominent around summer.
・The pale yellow striped nagi has white shoot tips that appear to be dusted with snow, making it an exceptionally fine specimen.
・The round-leaf nagi has thick, dark, glossy leaves with extremely white margins emerging from it, making it an unparalleled famous tree of all times.
This single tree from Mizuno-ō, besides branch sports, has limitless rare specimens from China and Japan, though it is difficult to rank them first or second. It has not yet been given to others.
