しつめともいふへきものは此み山をおきて何かはあし高

にて二子の山のふたなみたてるはちこのあそへるやうにそ
みゆめる田子の浦のゆをひかなる富士川のとほしろき
三保の松原まつはらに見えわたり清見潟のきよう
すゝしけなる筆にも絵にもえつくしかたうなむ
あらはるゝふしは空なりうき雲のあわとみえしや
三保の松原しな野かひの山々は雲霧にへたゝりて
よくもみえねと久能のみ山のまさしうをかまれぬるそ
かしこくうれしきちかきみしまのすくはさらなり 沼津の
城の白う見えたるそかつき〳〵のすく〳〵遠つあふみまて
そみゆめるひたりは天城の山をさかひにてすへてはつくり
庭のやうなりけりかへりみすれは相模の峯々目の前に
見え江のしまは手さしのへてとりもすへく初嶋はあし

現代語訳
けるようだ。六月の十五日も近づいているというのに、今でも雪が消えずに残っている。天から垂れ下がって凍えているような我が大日本国の宝とも、鎮めとも言うべきものは、この御山を置いて何があろうか。足高山の思い上がった様子も、箱根の威厳ある姿も、はるかに麓の方に見える。二子山の二つの峰が立っているのは、乳房で遊んでいるかのように見える。田子の浦の夕日の美しさ、富士川の遠く白い流れ、三保の松原が松原に見え渡り、清見潟の清く涼しげな様子は、筆にも絵にも表し尽くしがたいものである。
雲が晴れて富士は空に現れ、浮雲が泡のように見えたのは三保の松原であろうか。信濃や甲斐の山々は雲霧に隔てられてよく見えないが、久能山だけは確かに美しく見えるのが
ありがたく嬉しい。近くの三島の清らかさは言うまでもなく、沼津の城が白く見えるのがくっきりと美しい。遠く近江まで見えるようだ。東の方は天城山を境として、すべて作り庭のようである。振り返ってみると、相模の峰々が目の前に見え、江の島は手を差し伸ばして取れそうに、初島は足を伸ばして渡れそうに見える。大島の築山のような利島、新島の青垣のような八重波の高い潮路とも思えない。
四方の物がはるか遠くまで見える山なので、天つ日の峰という名が付いたのであろう。雲の立ったり晴れたりするのに応じて、下の房総の山々がはっきりと見えないのが残念だが、いつまでもここにいるわけにはいかないので
英語訳
It seems so. Although the 15th of the sixth month (according to the lunar calendar) is approaching, snow still remains without melting. Hanging down from heaven and frozen, what could be called the treasure or the guardian deity of our great Japan other than this sacred mountain? The proud appearance of Mount Ashitaka and the majestic form of Hakone appear far away at the foot of the mountain. The two peaks of Futago-yama (Twin Mountains) standing there look like breasts at play. The beautiful evening glow of Tago-no-ura bay, the distant white flow of the Fuji River, Miho-no-matsubara pine grove stretching across the landscape, and the pure and cool appearance of Kiyomi-gata bay are beyond description by brush or painting.
The clouds cleared and Fuji appeared in the sky; what looked like floating clouds appearing as foam must have been Miho-no-matsubara. The mountains of Shinano and Kai are obscured by clouds and mist and cannot be seen clearly, but only Mount Kunou is certainly visible in its beauty.
This is gratifying and joyful. The purity of nearby Mishima goes without saying, and Numazu castle appearing white is distinctly beautiful. It seems one can see as far as distant Lake Biwa. To the east, with Mount Amagi as the boundary, everything looks like an artificial garden. Looking back, the peaks of Sagami appear before our eyes, Enoshima seems close enough to reach out and grab, and Hatsushima seems close enough to wade across. Oshima like an artificial hill, Toshima and Niijima like green hedges - one cannot even think of the high waves and sea routes.
Because this mountain allows one to see things in all four directions extending far into the distance, it probably received the name "Amatsuhikane" (Heavenly Sun Peak). As clouds form and clear, it is regrettable that the mountains of Boso below cannot be seen clearly, but since we cannot stay here forever
