などもいるであろうから、かえってどうかと思われるので、右の通りの趣旨を堅く慎んで、入浴に行くことは遠慮なく行くようにと思し召しのことである。
一、御先代から御法度ではないが、面々の寄合を遠慮するように聞いている。そうであれば相互に疎遠にもなるであろうから、御定めの通り一汁一菜の外に香の物料理で寄合することは勝手次第にするようにと思し召しのことである。
一、謡のことについて、表向御長屋では独吟の外は謡わない筈に仰せ付け置かれているが、相互に寄合う節、外の音曲は無用とし、みだらでなく、用があって四、五人程で謡うことは苦しくないから、面々そのように心得るべきことである。
但し内御長屋のことは今までの通り御構いないことである。
右の趣は共に御長屋御曲輪の内で面々が気詰まりをして難儀することと思し召されるため、御憐愍の趣で仰せ付けられたから、面々その旨を存じ、慎むことは堅く相守るべきことである。

Memorandum
1. Henceforth, regardless of the occasion, all gift-giving is completely prohibited. There will be no bestowed items.
1. Regarding everyone's clothing, plain garments should be primarily used. Even during guard duty, accompanying duties, or messenger duties, domain silk and pongee hachiō are acceptable. Generally, fine clothing and conspicuous dress are strictly prohibited. The same applies to women.
1. At gatherings, only one soup, one dish, plus pickles are allowed; everything else is strictly prohibited. Even with outsiders, one soup, three dishes, pickles, and anything else are strictly forbidden. In the rare case of distinguished guests, matters of hospitality should be reported to the inspectors.
1. Gift-giving is strictly prohibited. Except for fathers, sons, and brothers, even small gifts are strictly prohibited. The same applies to exchanges among women, which are strictly forbidden. This applies to both auspicious and inauspicious occasions. Since gift-giving matters can be confusing, henceforth the inspectors will examine them, so this point must be clearly understood.
