現代語訳
一、常に通る者であっても、時として見届けられない品物がある場合は、その際はよくよく吟味すること。また、普段と違った風俗で参る者についても吟味すること。
一、普段来ない者が来て、御長屋の内の誰殿方へ約束して商品を持参したと申す場合は、吟味して間違いなければ、その長屋へ番人が行って、確かに入るべき者であれば、人を遣わして御門へ許可を申し越すようにすること。
右の者が仕舞って帰る際は、その長屋から送り人を請けて御門を通すこと。
一、総じて不審に見える者を緩やかにして、みだりに出入りさせれば、番人が越度となるので、よくよく念を入れるよう申し付けること。以上

一、他所者が来た場合は御番所から送り人を付けること。第一に火の用心のため、風の立つ日に他所の人が来て見知らない者には、その様子を尋ね、急用でなければ風の立つ際は入りにくいので、風が止んで明日にも来るよう断って、むやみに入れてはならない。
但し侍が来て御長屋の主人を申す場合は通すこと。しかし見知らない人は送り人を指し添えること。
一、総じて他所者が来る時は、番人が双方の名を帳面に留め置いて案内を付けること。刀を指している者は身分に構わず、並びに寺社・医師の類等は御足軽が送ること。一腰指・無刀の者並びに女等・荒子が送ること。他所者が帰る際は、その所から人を添えて送り出すよう届けること。
一、他所から人が来る際は、どちら方へ参るかと先方を承り、「この外へは参らないか」と相尋ね、方々に用事がある者はその段を先方にて申し、案内を付けて用事を伝えること。そうでなければ御門を出る際に面倒であることを心得るよう申し聞かせること。
一、定詰の内、末々の召使のいない者どもの方へ他所から人が来る際、送り人がないので、番人が了簡して送り

1. When outsiders come, the guard post must assign an escort. First, for fire prevention, on windy days when outsiders come and are not recognized, inquire about their business, and if it is not urgent business, since entry is difficult on windy days, tell them to come when the wind stops, perhaps tomorrow, and do not let them enter carelessly.
However, if samurai come stating they are visiting a master of the long houses, they may pass through. Nevertheless, unknown persons must be assigned an escort.
1. In general, when outsiders come, guards must record both parties' names in the ledger and provide an escort. Those carrying swords, regardless of status, as well as temple and shrine personnel, doctors and similar people shall be escorted by foot soldiers.
