一荷物積来船河岸端有之辻番ゟ改之御定之日数之外不可指置事     附御堀江塵芥捨させ申間敷候若辻番之下知を不用ちり芥捨候もの      有之は主人承届可置事 一辻番所に男女当座之宿も不可借惣て番所之前に人集め不可置幷衣類  諸道具一切預り不可置事 一江戸中端々にて長屋其外小家などへ衣類もちりにてからみとり又は門長  屋なとかなものはつし候よしケ様之儀幷長屋下等に立やすらひ不審に  相見え候もの在之候はゝ心を付不可油断事 一江戸中往還之輩於道路頻煩出し又は酒に酔行留候節町送りに  仕儀如前々堅可為停止候侍小路町屋敷之前たりといふとも其所に  暫留置之候令介抱正気付候上可遣之若一日も一夜成共於不得快気  は其所之支配方迄申断可請指図仮正気付候上にても行歩不叶時は  其者之住所承届使を差越迎之者招寄相渡可遣之事  右之趣於致違背は後日聞候共可為曲事者也     正徳五未四月       奉行         覚 内御曲輪之内口附無之小者中間体のもの馬乗致往来候もの在之候  乗不申義に候向後右之者見懸次第急度相断乗申間鋪旨被 仰付  奉畏候      未八月四日     御徒目付                 小山金五郎                御小人目付                 萩原兵内  享保十六亥年十一月大目付中様より御廻状之写此御書付松平左近将監殿被  仰渡候写相廻候順達留りゟ鈴木飛騨守方江可相通候以上      十一月十二日     大目付 一雨天にても無之節供之者笠かむり候儀可為無用旨前々相達候  場向後構無之候自今は大手向桜田西之丸大手三ケ所之下馬前は  雨天にて無之節供之者笠かむり候儀可為無用候以上

現代語訳

一、荷物を積んで来る船が河岸端にある時は、辻番より改めて、御定めの日数の外は指し置くべからざること。   附:御堀へ塵芥を捨てさせ申すまじく候。もし辻番の下知を用いず塵芥を捨てる者があれば、主人承知届け置くべきこと。 一、辻番所に男女当座の宿も貸すべからず。総じて番所の前に人集めを置くべからず。並びに衣類・諸道具一切預かり置くべからざること。 一、江戸中端々にて長屋その外小家などへ衣類持ちにてからみ取り、または門・長屋などかなものはずし候よし。このような儀並びに長屋下等に立ち休らい、不審に相見え候者これあり候えば、心を付け油断すべからざること。 一、江戸中往還の輩、道路において頻繁に煩い出し、または酒に酔い行き留まる節、町送りにする儀、前々の如く堅く停止たるべく候。侍小路・町屋敷の前たりといえども、その所に暫く留め置き、介抱させ正気付き候上これを遣わすべし。もし一日も一夜なりとも快気を得ざることにおいては、その所の支配方まで申し断り指図を請うべし。仮に正気付き候上にても行歩叶わざる時は、その者の住所を承知届け、使いを差し越し迎えの者を招き寄せ相渡しこれを遣わすべきこと。  右の趣違背をいたすにおいては、後日聞き候とも曲事者たるべきなり。    正徳五年未四月     奉行 覚 内御曲輪の内、口附きなき小者・中間体の者、馬乗りいたし往来候者これあり候。乗り申さざる義に候。向後右の者見掛け次第急度相断り、乗り申すまじき旨仰せ付けられ、畏み奉り候。    未八月四日    御徒目付 小山金五郎             御小人目付 萩原兵内 享保十六年亥年十一月、大目付中様より御回状の写し。この御書付、松平左近将監殿仰せ渡され候写し相回り候。順達留りより鈴木飛騨守方へ相通すべく候。以上    十一月十二日    大目付 一、雨天にても無き節、供の者笠かぶり候儀無用たるべき旨、前々相達し候場。向後構いなく候。自今は大手向・桜田・西の丸大手三ヶ所の下馬前は、雨天にて無き節、供の者笠かぶり候儀無用たるべく候。以上

英語訳

1. When cargo ships arrive at the riverbank, after inspection by the intersection guards, they shall not be allowed to remain beyond the stipulated number of days. Note: Trash and refuse shall not be thrown into the moats. If anyone discards trash without heeding the intersection guards' orders, their master shall be notified and held accountable. 1. The intersection guard posts shall not lend temporary lodging to men or women. In general, gatherings of people shall not be allowed in front of the guard posts, nor shall clothing or various tools be stored there. 1. In the outskirts of Edo, at tenements and other small houses, there are reports of clothing theft through entanglement tactics, and removal of metal fittings from gates and tenements. Regarding such matters, and suspicious persons loitering around the lower areas of tenements, guards must remain vigilant and not be negligent. 1. When travelers throughout Edo frequently cause disturbances on the roads or stop while drunk, the practice of "town escort" shall be strictly prohibited as before. Even if this occurs in front of samurai alleys or townhouse compounds, they shall be temporarily detained at that location, given care until they regain their senses, and then sent on their way. If they do not recover even after a full day and night, permission must be sought from the local administrative authority. Even if they regain their senses but cannot walk, their residence shall be confirmed, a messenger sent, and someone summoned to escort them home. Those who violate these provisions shall be considered offenders even if discovered later. Shōtoku 5, 4th month of the Sheep year - Magistrate Memorandum Within the inner citadel, there are servants and attendants without proper authorization who travel on horseback. This is not permitted. Previously it was communicated that retainers wearing hats during non-rainy weather should cease this practice, and this continues to be enforced. From now on, at the three locations of Ōte-muki, Sakurada, and Nishinomaru Ōte dismounting areas, retainers shall not wear hats during non-rainy weather.
