火之元之ため組合之屋敷〳〵申合昼夜に限らす家来相廻し候義前々ゟ
申渡候処近頃ゆるみ候様にも相聞候左様には有之間敷儀に候猶又申合火之
元之儀入念風烈之節計にかきらす家来相廻し心を附候様可致候

右は松平周防守殿ゟ御渡候御書付写大目付松平対馬守殿ゟ御廻状
を以被 仰出候

都て辻番廻り場之内にて怪敷者捕候節組合之内ゟ御目付へ届有之候へは
見聞之者指遣其趣申上御指図之上町奉行所へ引渡候仕来に候処右
体怪敷者捕候節は向後何方へも届に不及直に町奉行所へ引渡候筈に

現代語訳
火の元のため組合の屋敷々々申し合わせ、昼夜を問わず家来を廻らせ候義、前々より申し渡し候処、近頃緩み候様にも相聞こえ候。左様にはあるまじき儀に候。なお又申し合わせ、火の元の儀入念に、風烈しき節ばかりに限らず家来を廻らせ心を付け候様致すべく候。
正月
右の通り相触るべく候。
右は松平周防守殿より御渡し候御書付写し、大目付松平対馬守殿より御廻状を以て仰せ出され候。

For fire prevention, the residences of group organizations have been coordinating and sending their retainers to patrol day and night, as has been ordered from before. However, recently it has been heard that this has become lax, which should not be the case. Furthermore, they shall coordinate and, regarding fire prevention matters, carefully send retainers to patrol and pay attention not only during times of strong winds.
1st month
This shall be proclaimed accordingly.
The above is a copy of a written order received from Lord Matsudaira Suōnokami, issued through a circular notice from Senior Inspector Lord Matsudaira Tsushimanokami.

In general, when suspicious persons are captured within intersection guard patrol areas, when there are reports from within the group organization to the inspectors, the established practice has been to send witnesses to report the matter and, upon receiving instructions, hand them over to the town magistrate office. However, when such suspicious persons are captured hereafter, there is no need to report to anyone - they shall be handed over directly to the town magistrate office, as this inquiry has been approved.
The above written matter shall be understood accordingly. That is all.
