現代語訳
覚
一、御供に罷り出る面々、痛み所これ有り足袋を相用い候わば、その段前日御目付へ相達されるよう先達て相触れ候えども、向後足袋相用い候義は決して相成らず候。もっとも痛み所これ有る節は御供差し替え申されるべく候。
一、路次悪しく総体草履履き候節、痛み所これ有り草鞋の下に足袋相用いたき節は、御供頭までその時々相達し、指図次第致されるべく候。
右の趣、この度改めて仰せ出され候間、その意を得られるべく候。以上

一、御供先にてたばこ給うべからざる事。もっとも火打ち火口の類懐中致すべからざる事。
但し御先方にてたばこ盆出し候わば、みだりでないよう仕り給うべき事。
一、御供の侍中末々まで目立つ衣類着用これ有るべからざる事。
付 一腰指しの又者紺無紋着為致すべく候。その外の衣類堅く無用の事。かつまた脇指銀鐺無用、その外真鍮銅にても目立つ鐺は無用の事。

1. When the roads are poor and straw sandals are generally worn, if someone wishes to use tabi under straw sandals due to injuries, this must be reported to the retinue head at each occasion and done according to instructions.

1. At duty stations and other places, while waiting at entrance areas and elsewhere, proper etiquette should be maintained. Especially during castle attendance, this should be observed even in waiting areas. Generally, regarding retinue duties, inspectors accompanying the retinue are instructed to pay attention, so instructions must not be disobeyed.
The above is newly proclaimed, so it should be understood and observed in advance.

Memorandum
1. During retinue duty, nothing disorderly should occur. Not only with high-ranking officials, but in all encounters when greetings are exchanged, and in all other situations, nothing improper should occur, and this should be kept in mind.
1. Not only at dismounting areas, but anywhere else as well, seeking gifts of any kind is absolutely forbidden.
1. Tobacco shall not be consumed during retinue duty. Moreover, flint and tinder shall not be carried.
However, if a tobacco tray is offered by the host, it may be used with proper decorum.
1. From samurai to all lower ranks in the retinue, conspicuous clothing shall not be worn.
Note: Single-sword bearing attendants shall wear dark blue uncrested garments. Other clothing types are strictly prohibited. Moreover, silver sword guards are prohibited, and brass or copper guards that are conspicuous are also prohibited.
