て屋鋪中崩れ当主即死家士九人死す同所池田氏より出火にて
この家も類焼し家来共大に周章【うろたえさわぐ】し主人の死骸を引出し持

○御使番で高千石、小川町猿楽町の大久保八郎左衛門殿は十月二日に用事があって丸の内へ参られ、同夜戌の刻に帰宅し、それから酒を飲んでいたところ、この大地震で屋敷中が崩れ、当主は即死、家臣九人が死んだ。同所の池田氏より出火して、この家も類焼し、家来たちは大いにうろたえ騒いで主人の死骸を引き出し持ち出す間に、早くも火の粉が雨のように降り、家財一品も出せずに丸焼けになったということである。この時に大久保彦左衛門殿自筆の一軸が焼失したと承った。誠に惜しむべきことである。
