江戸から関宿への往来の高瀬船が数多く破損し、荷主の損失が並大抵ではないということで発狂した者もあったということである。
江戸から箱根への往来の御用船を熱海に造らせたが、当年の秋に初めて二艘とも諸御役人の荷物等をたくさん積んで船出したところ、この夜一艘は行方知れずとなり、一艘は帆柱が折れ船が破損し、辛うじて南部の海辺に着き、日数を経て江戸へ報告してきた。

番町の辺りにある横田某邸では戸障子が吹き破られ、一家の火の玉が飛び入った。主人がこれを追いかけても止まらず、そうこうしているうちに外の方へ飛び去った。この家の主人は三日目に至って理由もなく急死した。いかなる怪異に触れたのであろうか。
