現代語訳
この大工町二丁目紀伊国屋徳兵衛と佐古村無役人次兵衛が、御国内において産出される木漆を使って蝋色などの春慶塗、朱合、その他様々な色の製法を行ったところ、上図のように立派に出来上がりましたので、製法と売捌きの件について仰せ付けていただけますよう願い上げます。そういたしましたら、木漆懸け目一貫につき御益銀二匁ずつ差し上げ申し上げる次第です。もっとも漆実の件は櫨と同様に専ら取り交わしを行っておりますので、右の漆の件も取りまとめて物産方で元締めとして仰せ付けていただきたく申し出候通り、仰せ付けられるにおいては左記の者たちに才判を仰せ付けていただきたく、物産方で受け持ち申し出た書付をご覧いただきました。したがって、まずは試しとして二、三年取り行わせ申し付け、御益銀の分は当時は召し上げられませんので、随分安値で売買いたし、いよいよ程よく相行われるにおいては、なお又その節申し出るよう申し聞かされた件の

Kii-ya Tokubei of Daiku-machi 2-chome and Jihei, a person without official role from Sako Village, have used tree lacquer (ki-urushi) produced within your domain to manufacture wax finishes, Shunkei lacquerware, vermillion blends, and various other colored lacquers. As these have been completed excellently as shown in the diagram above, we humbly request that we be granted permission for the manufacturing methods and sales operations. In that case, we will offer two monme of profit silver per one kan of tree lacquer application.
