現代語訳
朝比奈は程なく鎌倉に着いたが、一体見世物師【表白者】なので、この八人の異人を面白く使って、道中ありそうなものといろいろ案じて、まず胸に穴のある国の人を裸にして検非違使の薦を着せ、口から酒を注ぎ、その胸の穴へ飲み口をつけ、酒樽の代わりに用いる。

♪わが心開けて見せたい折々は、胸に穴ある島も懐かし。というのを思い出す

英語訳
Asahina soon arrived in Kamakura, and being essentially a showman【performer】, he devised various ways to entertainingly use these eight foreigners as one might expect on the road. First, he stripped the person from the country with holes in their chest naked, dressed him in a kebiishi's straw mat, poured sake from his mouth, attached a drinking spout to the hole in his chest, and used him as a substitute for a sake barrel.

♪When I want to open and show my heart, even an island with holes in the chest becomes dear to me. This brings to mind such verses.
