公儀外国之利器よう要術材
御採用被遊び候に付
御家にても御軍制御改正被仰出一際御武備御厳整被遊
度
思召二付銘々厚相心得銃隊操練之儀勉励可被致候依之改て左之通被
仰出候
一大小礟隊共西洋炮稽古可致成事
附 以来一同角前稽古も可致修行候事
一隊吾連合之儀者高下之分を不可論芸之甲乙可為候事
一方今之戦争ハ炮火盛に候得は甲冑相省キ軽便之陣服着用可致候事
但 前胴并篭手半首鎖鉢巻着込之類相用候義不苦候事
一陣服之儀異服之仕立并花美々類は可為無用候事
一士分着服之儀ハ具足下臺袖相用可申事

軍制改正に関する御達書
砲隊の件については、
幕府が外国の優れた武器や技術を
採用されたことに伴い、
当藩においても軍制改正を命じ、一層の武備充実を図りたい
との思し召しにより、各自よく心得て銃隊操練に励むべきである。これに関して改めて左記の通り命ずる。
一、大小砲隊共に西洋砲術の稽古をすること
附 今後一同に角前稽古も修行すべきこと
一、隊の連合については身分の上下を問わず、技術の優劣によるべきこと
一、現在の戦争は砲火が盛んであるから、甲冑を省いて軽便な陣服を着用すること
但し 前胴並びに籠手・半首・鎖鉢巻・着込の類を用いることは差し支えないこと
一、陣服については異服の仕立て並びに華美な装飾類は無用とすること
一、武士身分の着服については具足下・台袖を用いるべきこと

Proclamation Regarding Military System Reform
Regarding artillery units:
As the Shogunate has adopted superior foreign weapons and techniques, our domain also commands military system reform to further strengthen our military preparedness, according to His Lordship's wishes. Therefore, each person should well understand this and diligently practice firearms drills. In this regard, the following is newly commanded:
1. Both large and small artillery units shall practice Western gunnery
Note: Henceforth, all shall also practice square formation drills
1. Regarding unit coordination, this shall be based on skill level rather than social rank
1. As current warfare involves intensive artillery fire, armor shall be omitted and light, convenient battle dress shall be worn
However: The use of chest armor, arm guards, half-helmets, chain headbands, and padding is acceptable
1. Regarding battle dress, the tailoring of distinctive uniforms and ornate decorations shall be unnecessary
1. Regarding the clothing of samurai rank, gusoku-shita (armor undergarments) and taisode (wide sleeves) shall be used
