耒槿花（フソウクワ）
【本草綱目より】
合歡（ねむりのき）は、人家の庭先に植えると、人が怒りを感じなくなると言われている。
そもそも言われるには、合歡は怒りを取り除き、萱草（かんぞう）は憂いを忘れさせると。
【和名類聚抄より】
合歡木（ねむりのき）
唐韻に言うには、棔の字は音は「昏」であり、和名は「ねふりのき」とある。
辨色立成に言う「睦の樹」
合歡木とは、その葉が朝に開き、夕暮れに閉じるものである。

**From the Bencao Gangmu (Honzō Kōmoku / Compendium of Materia Medica):**
The Gōkan (Albizia julibrissin / silk tree) is planted in the courtyards of homes so that people will not feel anger.
It is said that the Gōkan dispels anger, while the Kanzō (daylily / Hemerocallis) causes one to forget sorrow.

Gōkan-boku (Nemuri-no-ki / sleep tree)
According to the Tōin (Tang Rhymes dictionary), the character 棔 is pronounced "kon" (hun), and its Japanese name is recorded as "nefuri-no-ki."
The Benshoku Rissei (color-classification text) calls it "Mutsubi-no-ki" (tree of harmony/affection).
The Gōkan-boku is a tree whose leaves open in the morning and close at dusk.
