一　正月廿三日於評定所月番家老本多民部《割書：道｜好》左之通書付
　　を以町在之者江御用金申渡之
　　　　　　　先年ゟ度々御用金指上就中去年以来世上困
　　　　　　　窮之事ニ候得者御用金杯被　仰付事決而被遊
　　　　　　　間敷　思召候乍然莫大之御物入之儀他国御才
　　　　　　　覚も果敢〱敷不相調依之何茂評議之趣申上
　　　　　　　無拠御用金申付候此度之御時節ニ候得ㇵ面々可
　　　　　　　致出精事ニ候
一　同日右同断ニ付金津奉行町奉行郡奉行江左之通書付を以

現代語訳

一、正月二十三日、評定所において月番家老の本多民部（道好）が、以下の通り書付をもって町在の者（町人・農民）に御用金を申し渡した。
　　　　　「先年より度々御用金を差し上げていただき、とりわけ昨年以来世上が困窮している状況であるので、御用金などを仰せ付けることは決してするまいと思っておりました。しかしながら、莫大な御物入（出費）があり、他国からの借用も思うようにいかず、これによって皆で評議した結果、やむを得ず御用金を申し付けることとなりました。この度の時節柄でありますので、皆々精を出していただきたく存じます。」

一、同日、右と同じ件について、金津奉行・町奉行・郡奉行に以下の通り書付をもって申し渡した。
　　　　　「先年より数度御用金を仰せ付けたところ、支配下の者どもが滞りなく差し上げ、御間（期限）に合わせて御満足いただいております。昨年以来、とりわけ困窮している状況がお耳に達しており、下々が難儀している段、御憐愍に思し召され、この節などに御用金を仰せ付けることは甚だ御苦労に思し召し、決して仰せ付けるまいとの旨を仰せ出されました。しかしながら、各々存じ知りの通り、江戸表での莫大な御物入のため、他国からの借用等も思うようにならず、是非に及ばず、皆で評議の上、再び御用金を申し付けることとなりました。面々気を落とさず、如何様にも

1. On the 23rd day of the 1st month, at the Council of State, the monthly duty senior retainer Honda Minbu (Dōkō) issued the following written notice to townspeople and rural residents regarding a special tax levy:
　　　　　"You have contributed special levies many times since previous years, and especially since last year the world has been in dire straits, so we had resolved never to impose such levies again. However, due to enormous expenditures and our inability to secure adequate loans from other domains, after deliberation among all of us, we have no choice but to impose this levy. Given the circumstances of these times, we ask that everyone apply themselves diligently."

1. On the same day, regarding the same matter, the following written notice was issued to the Kanazu magistrate, town magistrate, and district magistrate:
　　　　　"When special levies were imposed several times in previous years, those under your jurisdiction contributed without delay and met the deadlines, bringing great satisfaction to His Lordship. Since last year, news of particular hardship has reached His Lordship's ears, and he sympathizes deeply with the suffering of the common people. He declared that imposing levies at this time would cause great hardship and should never be done. However, as you all know, due to enormous expenditures in Edo, loans from other domains are not forthcoming, and we have no choice. After deliberation among all, we must again impose a special levy.
