草木がそのために繁殖するという。○前に言った通り、水気が凝って霧となり、霧が草木の葉に溜まって露となり、露がまた厳しい寒さに逢えばさらに凝って霜となる。故に露や霜は必ず上からばかり降るものではない。よって植木などの霜枯れを防ぐには、まるで木を包み覆い、その木の固有の温気を吐き出させないようにすべきである。
