命 わすれじの かたければ
とも
がな 行末迄は けふをかぎりの
是は中関白道隆公と契りそめ給ひし頃
よまれし歌也こゝろはいま君がゆくすゑ 儀同
かけてわすれまいとのたまへどもをとこの
心はかはりやすきものゆゑその御詞はゆく 三司
末長くはとほりかたきことなればつひに
みすてなさるゝであらうとおもはるれば 母
いつその事に今此やうに深く給ふうちに
けふかぎりの命にてこの座で死ぬれば
よいさうしたならば見すてらるゝ時の
つらさはしるまいほどにと也

瀧の音は なり 名こそ
ぬれ
たえて久しく ど 猶聞えけれ
嵯峨の大覚寺といふに行て滝を
見てよみ給ひし哥也こゝろは瀧の水の 大納
音は後もたえて久しくなれども世上に
名高かりし瀧のことゆゑその名は今 言
もやなりにしられて世上に流布して
といふ事也それを水のな■によせてよま
れし也此大覚寺はもと嵯峨院と申 公
御殿にてそのをり帝のつくらせ給ひし
瀧也そのゝち此御殿寺となりしなり 任
現代語訳
【右丁】
命ともがな 忘れじの 行末までは かたければ けふをかぎりの
これは中関白道隆公と契りを結び始められた頃に詠まれた歌である。心は、今あなたが将来にかけて忘れないとおっしゃるけれども、男の心は変わりやすいものなので、そのお言葉は将来長くは通りにくいことであるから、ついには見捨てなさるであろうと思われるので、いっそのこと、今このように深くお愛しくださるうちに、今日限りの命にてこの場で死んでしまえばよい。そうしたならば見捨てられる時の辛さは知らないでいられようとの意である。
【左丁】
滝の音は 絶えて久しく なりぬれど 名こそ流れて なほ聞えけれ
嵯峨の大覚寺というところに行って滝を見て詠まれた歌である。心は、滝の水の音は後も絶えて久しくなったけれども、世上に名高かった滝のことなので、その名は今もやはりに知られて世上に流布しているということである。それを水の流れによせて詠まれたのである。この大覚寺はもと嵯峨院と申し上げた御殿にて、その折に帝の作らせ給った滝である。その後この御殿が寺となったのである。

Would that my life might end today, for promises to never forget are hard to keep until the distant future.
This is a poem composed around the time when she began her relationship with Nakanosekaku Michitaka-kō. The meaning is: Now you say you will never forget me in the future, but since men's hearts are fickle, such words are difficult to maintain for long, so eventually you will probably abandon me. Therefore, it would be better if, while you still love me so deeply as now, my life ended today and I died here on the spot. If that happened, I would not have to know the pain of being abandoned.

Though the sound of the waterfall has long since ceased, its name still flows and can be heard.
This is a poem composed when visiting the place called Daikaku-ji in Saga and viewing the waterfall. The meaning is: Though the sound of the waterfall's water has long since stopped, because it was a waterfall famous throughout the world, its name is still known today and continues to be spoken of in the world. This was composed using the metaphor of flowing water. This Daikaku-ji was originally a palace called Saga-in, and the waterfall was created by the Emperor at that time. Later this palace became a temple.
