御山内寺院坊舍（おんさんないじゐんばうしや） 一 山（さん）の学頭（がくとう）一 院（ゐん）衆徒（しゆと）廿ヶ院（ゐん）別所（べつしよ）四ヶ院（ゐん）外（ほか）に一 院（ゐん）
都合（つがふ）廿六 院（ゐん）是（これ）を一 山（さん）の大衆（たいしゆ）と唱（とな）ふ外（ほか）に一 坊（ばう）八十 坊（ばう）あり
学頭（がくとう） 修学院（しゆがくゐん）と号（がう）す佛岩谷（ほとけいはだに）あり此寺（このてら）の表門（おもてもん）は徃古（わうご） 御殿（ごでん）の御門（ごもん）
なりとぞ元禄四未年五月 御取置（おんとりおき）に相成（あひなり）其後（そのゝち）享保 年中（ねんちゆう）御門（ごもん）を修（しゅ）
学院（がくゐん）へ賜（たま）ふといふ室町家（むろまちけ）の作営（さくえい）を移（うつ）され御經営（ごけいえい）ありし御門（ごもん）ゆゑ
世（よ）に稀（まれ）なる匠作（しやうさく）なり土人等（どじんら）穪（しよう）して二階御門（にかいごもん）と唱（とな）ふ
衆徒二十院（しゆとにじつかゐん） 東山谷（ひがしやまだに）佛岩谷（ほとけいはだに）中山（なかやま）にあり

Temple Halls and Monk Quarters within the Sacred Mountain Precinct: One Gakutō (head of learning) of the mountain - one temple; Shuto (monk disciples) - twenty temples; Bessho (branch temples) - four temples; additionally one temple
Total of twenty-six temples - these are called the Taishū (great assembly) of one mountain; additionally there are eighty monk quarters
Gakutō: Called Shūgaku-in, located in Hotoke-iwa Valley. The front gate of this temple is said to be the gate of an ancient palace. In the fourth year of Genroku, year of the sheep, fifth month, it was placed under imperial custody. Later, during the Kyōhō era, the gate was bestowed upon Shūgaku-in. Since it was a gate that had been relocated from construction by the Muromachi family and built under imperial management, it is craftsmanship rare in the world. The local people call it the "Two-story Imperial Gate."
