　つかせ給（たま）ふ御法事（おんほふじ）やむごとなくぞ聞（きこ）えける

　廿日 小餘綾（こよろぎ）の磯（いそ）をとほり玉ふに蒼海（さうかい）はるかに見渡（みわた）されて巖（いはほ）に
　かゝる浪（なみ）は雪（ゆき）かとまがひ渚（なぎさ）になびく雲（くも）は花（はな）かとのみぞ見（み）えける
　磯（いそ）あさりするあま少女（をとめ）も玉だれのをがめをむなしくしてこの

　月（つき）のみかはあのねさす日（ひ）もおなじ萱生（かやふ）よりかげのどかに霞（かすみ）に
　もるゝ春（はる）もながめえもいはず友（とも）におくれてかへる鴈（かり）のつばさもの
　あはれなりければ僧正（そうじやう）
　　おもほえずうすみの袖（そで）をぬらしけり行（ゆく）もかへるも鴈（かり）の泪（なみだ）に
　掘（ほり）かねの井（ゐ）は右にみてとほる決定知近水心（けつぢやうちごんすゐこゝろ）【注】にうかぶべしけふは
　仙波大堂（せんばだいだう）にとゞまらせ給（たま）ひておなじき廿六日までおはします
　この所（ところ）はむかし仙保仙人（せんはうせんにん）開闢（かいびやく）し慈覚大師（じがくだいし）中興（ちゆうこう）ありてそのゝち
　尊海僧正（そんかいそうじやう）又（また）おこし給（たま）ふ　勅額（ちよくがく）数代（すだい）の聖跡（せいせき）などもありかゝる靈地（れいち）
　なればこれにて論題（ろんだい）をいだされけるは一生入妙覚（いつしやうにふみやうがく）となん問荅（もんだふ）重（ぢゆう）

　煙を含んでいる様子であった。春も暮れていくと、菫などが露を重くして咲き、紫の縁を
　かけたものもあるだろうと思うと、また袖が濡れてしまった。やっとの思いで小田原に
　お着きになり、御法事は非常に厳かに執り行われた。
　十九日も昨日と変わらず（同様であった）。
　二十日、小余綾の磯をお通りになると、青い海がはるかに見渡され、岩に
　かかる波は雪かと見まがい、渚になびく雲は花かとばかり見えた。
　磯で漁をする海女の乙女たちも、玉簾の拝みを空しくして、この
　神輿を拝み奉った。さて中原の御殿にお着きになり、御法事はますます
　厳かであった。これは六所宮の近くの所で、それは一国の総社として
　受け継がれている。
　東照大権現は西より南より、越の白根の雪にも及ばない御光
　があろうか（いや、それ以上である）。

　二十一日、府中の御殿にお着きになり、翌日も同じ所で
　様々な御法会の尊い儀式が行われた。
　二十三日は山の端も知れぬ武蔵野に分け入らせになった。草より出るのは
　月ばかりではない。あの峰を指す太陽も同じ茅生より、影ものどかに霞に
　漏れる春の眺めも言いようがない。友に遅れて帰る雁の翼も
　哀れであったので、僧正（天海）は詠まれた。
　　思いもよらず墨染めの袖を濡らしてしまった。行くのも帰るのも雁の涙に
　掘兼の井を右に見て通る。「決定知近水心」に浮かぶであろう。今日は
　仙波大堂にお留まりになって、同じく二十六日までいらっしゃる。
　この所は昔、仙宝仙人が開拓し、慈覚大師が中興し、その後
　尊海僧正がまた興された。勅額や数代の聖跡などもあり、このような霊地
　であるので、ここで論題を出されたのは「一生入妙覚」であった。問答は重要で

　filled with smoke. As spring was drawing to a close, violets and other flowers bloomed heavily with dew, and I thought there might be some tinged with purple connections, which made my sleeves wet with tears again. With great effort, they arrived at Odawara, where the Buddhist service was conducted most solemnly.
　The 19th day was the same as yesterday.
　On the 20th day, as they passed through the shores of Koyorogi, the blue sea stretched far into the distance, the waves hitting the rocks looked like snow, and the clouds swaying over the beach appeared like flowers.
　Even the fisher maidens gathering shellfish on the shore set aside their pearl-curtain worship and bowed to this sacred palanquin. Then they arrived at the palace in Nakahara, where the Buddhist service was conducted even more solemnly. This place is near Rokusho-no-miya, which has been inherited as the provincial shrine of the entire province.
　Could there be any divine light of Tosho Daigongen that does not reach even the snow of Shirane in Koshi from the west and south? (No, it surpasses even that.)

　On the 21st day, they arrived at the palace in Fuchu, and on the following day, various sacred Buddhist assemblies and precious ceremonies were held at the same location.
　On the 23rd day, they entered into Musashino, where even the mountain edges were unknown. What emerges from the grass is not only the moon. The sun pointing to those peaks also shines gently from the same miscanthus fields, its shadow peacefully filtering through the spring mist—a view beyond description. The wings of geese returning behind their companions were also pitiful, so the High Priest (Tenkai) composed:
　　Unexpectedly, I wet my ink-black sleeves with tears from both the departing and returning geese
　They passed with Horikanē-no-i well to their right. This should float in the "determined knowledge of nearby water and heart." Today they stayed at Senba Great Hall until the 26th of the same month.
　This place was originally developed by the hermit Senpo, restored by Great Master Jigaku, and later revived again by High Priest Sonkai. There are imperial plaques and sacred sites from several generations, and because this is such a sacred place, the topic presented here for debate was "Entering Perfect Enlightenment in One Lifetime." The questions and answers were profound.
