【右丁】
四方に本尊の五智如来並びに須弥の四天、その他の諸尊を安置している。これは慶安三年に小浜侍従酒井忠勝朝臣が造献したものである。総高さ十七間二尺、柱は金襴巻き、二手先、総彩色。その他、承塵の上通りには十二支を彫ってある。二重垂木で銅葺き、四方は黒塗りの扉に葵の御紋がある。外通りは赤塗り。周り八間四方ほどに鉾石の玉垣を構えてある。
御番所 仁王御門の下にあり、日光組頭支配の同心が見張りを勤めている。この所より右の方へ折れ回って十五六間ほど行くと御番所がある。これは御裏御門の見張りである。その前の石坂を下れば大楽院表門前である。また仁王御門の東の方に杉の樹が陰鬱としている所は、御仮殿の御構えである。
滑海藻石 仁王御門の石垣は高さ一丈五六尺。その築石の中にある巨石に名を付けたもの。小口の見える所は横一丈四五尺、高さ一丈ばかり。
阿房丸石 これも右同所の右の方、番所の後ろにある。大石で高さ一丈五尺ほど、横三間四尺ばかり。この両方の石垣の内へ畳み込んだものである。巨石の名を

諸国より参詣するものへ宮巡りを導く地元の人々が、その大きなることを称して演説する所である。その謂れは定かでない。
仁王御門 石の御鳥居の正面、四間に二間半。朱塗りで銅葺き、軒口と箱棟に滅金の御紋がある。右弼は那羅延金剛、左輔は密迹金剛。丈一丈余り、朱塗りで運慶作。総丸柱の上は金襴巻きで彩色。内羽目とともに朱塗り、垂木は黒塗り。表裏左右の間は格画天井。内柱の上は菊の籠彫り、外柱の上は金龍に雲形の彫りがある。冠木の上中央に金の御紋付き、左右は竹に虎の彫り。御門扉は朱塗り。御門の内裏に金色の狛犬二頭が蹲踞している。各々三尺ばかり。御門より左右に銅葺きで赤塗りした屏垣を折れ回し、東の方は裏御門まで至り、西の方は相輪橖の辺に至る。およそ長さ五六十間。さて仁王御門より内は角なる石を敷き詰め、幅一丈余り、長さは陽明御門の下まで数百歩の間、三曲に折れて、その左右は一面に丸小石を敷き詰めてある。この御門の外左右に古大樹の杉十根ばかりある。往古よりの杉である。

The five Wisdom Buddhas as principal deities are enshrined in the four directions, along with the four heavenly kings of Mount Sumeru and other various deities. This was constructed and donated by Obama Jijū Sakai Tadakatsu Ason in the third year of Keian. The total height is seventeen ken and two shaku, with pillars wrapped in gold brocade, two-tier bracket arms, and overall polychrome decoration. Additionally, the twelve zodiac animals are carved on the upper part of the coffered ceiling. It has double rafters with copper roofing, black-lacquered doors on all four sides bearing the hollyhock mon crest. The exterior corridors are painted red. Stone railings made of spear-shaped stones are constructed around the perimeter of about eight ken square.
Guard Station - Located below the Niō Gate, where constables under the jurisdiction of Nikkō group leaders maintain watch. From this place, turning right and proceeding about fifteen to sixteen ken, there is another guard station. This is for watching the rear gate. Descending the stone slope in front leads to the front of Dairaku-in's main gate. Also, on the east side of the Niō Gate, where cedar trees create a gloomy shade, are the sacred precincts of the temporary shrine.
Arame Stone - The stone wall of the Niō Gate is fifteen to sixteen shaku high. This giant stone within the construction stones has been given this name. Where the end face is visible, it measures fourteen to fifteen shaku horizontally and about one jō high.
Ahōmaru Stone - This is also in the same location on the right side, behind the guard station. It's a large stone about one jō and five shaku high and approximately three ken and four shaku wide. Both of these are incorporated within the stone walls. The names of these giant stones

are places where local people who guide pilgrims from various provinces on shrine tours boast about their great size in their explanations. The origins of these names are not certain.
Niō Gate - Facing the stone sacred torii, measuring four ken by two and a half ken. Red-lacquered with copper roofing, with gold leaf hollyhock mon crests on the eaves and ridge. The right guardian is Naraen Kongō, the left is Misshaku Kongō. Over one jō tall, red-lacquered, works of Unkei. The round pillars above are wrapped in gold brocade with polychrome decoration. The interior panels are also red-lacquered, with black-lacquered rafters. The spaces between front, back, left and right have coffered ceilings. Above the inner pillars are basket-carved chrysanthemums, above the outer pillars are golden dragons with cloud-shaped carvings. At the center above the lintel is a gold mon crest, with bamboo and tiger carvings on the left and right. The gate doors are red-lacquered. Inside the gate, two golden komainu crouch, each about three shaku in size. From the gate, red-painted screen walls with copper roofing extend in both directions in a zigzag pattern, reaching the rear gate on the east side and extending to the vicinity of the sōrintō on the west side, with a total length of about fifty to sixty ken. Now, inside the Niō Gate, square stones are laid throughout, with a width of over one jō. The length extends several hundred steps to below the Yōmei Gate in three curves, with round pebbles laid throughout on both left and right sides. Outside this gate on both left and right are about ten ancient large cedar trees, cedars from ancient times.
