日光道塲為
東照大權現設也 大權現有無量功德合有無量崇奉
結搆之雄世未曾有繼述之孝益彰先烈我 王聞而歡
喜為鑄法鐘以補靈山三寶之供仍 命《割書：臣》植叙而銘之
銘曰
丕顯英烈肇闡靈眞玄都式廓寶鐘斯陳叅修勝
緣資薦冥福鯨音獅吼昏覺魔伏非器之重唯孝
之則龍天是謨鴻祚偕極

日光山鐘銘并序
日光道場は
東照大権現のために設けられたものである。大権現には無量の功徳があり、それに相応する無量の崇拝を受けるべきである。
その建造物の雄大さは世に未だかつてなく、継承の孝行はますます先人の功績を明らかにする。我が王はこれを聞いて歓
喜し、法鐘を鋳造して霊山三宝の供養を補完することとし、よって臣植に命じて序文と銘を作らせた。
銘に曰く
大いに顕れる英烈、始めて霊真を開闡す。玄都は式に廓まり、宝鐘ここに陳ぶ。勝
縁を参修し、冥福を資薦す。鯨音獅吼して、昏きを覚まし魔を伏す。器の重きに非ず、
唯孝の則なり。龍天これを謨り、鴻祚偕に極まる。
崇禎壬午十月 朝鮮国礼曹参判李植撰

Inscription and Preface for the Bell of Mount Nikkō
The Nikkō Dōjō (sacred training ground) was
established for Tōshō Daigongen. Daigongen possesses immeasurable virtues and should receive immeasurable veneration accordingly.
The magnificence of its construction is unprecedented in the world, and the filial piety of its continuation increasingly illuminates the achievements of predecessors. Our king, hearing this, rejoiced
and decided to cast a dharma bell to supplement the offerings to the Three Treasures of the sacred mountain, therefore commanding his retainer Shoku to compose this preface and inscription.
The inscription reads:
Greatly manifest heroic achievements, first opening and expounding the sacred truth. The mystical capital expands in proper order, and the treasure bell is here displayed. Participating in the cultivation of excellent
karmic connections, supporting and recommending blessings for the deceased. The whale's sound and lion's roar awaken the benighted and subdue demons. Not merely the weight of the vessel,
but truly the principle of filial piety. The dragon-heaven devises this, and great fortune reaches its apex together.
