くすりをは世にひろめ給はすはこのうち
にかくしつゝ驪山（りさん）といふ山のうちにうつみ
をかせ給ひけりそのくすりのとくゆへに
山中大にうるほひて草木はなはたさか
えたり又このくすりのはこの上には黄精（わうせい）【なるこゆり(鳴子百合)の漢名】
といふ草おひたり後の世の仙人此草をとり
こんて丹薬（たんやく）をねりて服（ふく）すとかや長生（ちやうせい） 不死（ふし）の
薬草（やくさう）にていまの世まても黄精（わうせい）はいのちを
やしなふ三百六十 種（しゆ）の草木の中の

薬を世に広めることはなさらず、この中に隠して驪山という山の中に埋めさせられた。その薬の徳のゆえに、山中は大いに潤って草木がたいへん栄えた。またこの薬の箱の上には黄精という草が生えた。後の世の仙人はこの草を取って煉って丹薬を作り服用するという。長生不死の薬草であって、今の世まで黄精は命を養う三百六十種の草木の中の第一とされている。

He did not spread the medicine throughout the world, but hid it and had it buried in a mountain called Mount Li. Due to the virtue of this medicine, the mountain became greatly moistened and the plants and trees flourished abundantly. Moreover, on top of the box containing this medicine, a herb called huangjing (Solomon's seal) grew. Immortals of later generations are said to take this herb, refine it to make elixir pills, and consume them. It is a medicinal herb for longevity and immortality, and even to this day, huangjing is considered the foremost among the 360 types of plants and trees that nourish life.
