重能は終身浪人として医術を学んだとの由緒が家元から伝わっているが、宝永四年亥年七月二十一日、鈴木弥三郎の伯父が最上船町にて伊東現休という者と親類一同で対面のため参ったところ、しばらく差し置きたい旨が記録に見えるので、伊藤を名乗っていたものと見える。もっとも病死の年月も違っており、墓名もないとのことなので、過去帳の書き損じであろうか。

妻は塩田助之丞重実の女 寛文十一年亥年誕生、享保十九年寅年九月十四日、六十四歳にて病死。法名は釈遊玉、葬所は同上
一、寛文九年酉年二月、鼻紙代として金二両二人扶持を下し置かれ、親の肩代わりとして相勤めるよう仰せ付けられたこと
但し、御当国にて御用の捕手縄の件は、岩田無人斉の伝授を以て御用いになってきたが、末々に至り誤った戒めが出来た件と見え、難しく用立たない縄が多くある
