口上の覚え
先日はお伺いして、ゆっくりとお話を伺うことができ、本当に有り難く存じます。その際にお聞かせいただいた御内書への御礼の件について、貴殿まで書状をこのように認めて差し上げます。しかしながら、内々の相談事に差し支えがあるため、御老中へも書状は差し上げていない旨をお伝えくださったことと存じます。そうであれば、もはやこの件について申し上げることはないのでしょうか。いずれにしても、よろしくお考えいただいて、お示しください。まずは認めて差し上げます。もっとも、至急の文言等でお考えのことがございましたら、お示しください。書き改めて差し上げます。以上

The other day, I had the honor of calling upon you and leisurely receiving your thoughts, which I consider most gratifying. Regarding the matter of expressing gratitude for the imperial letter that you mentioned on that occasion, I am writing this letter to you as follows. However, as you informed me, due to complications with private consultations, you have not submitted a letter to the Council of Elders (rōjū) on this matter. Given this situation, should I no longer pursue this matter? In any case, please give it your favorable consideration and let me know your thoughts. I am writing this first. Furthermore, if you have any urgent matters or words in mind, please inform me. I will revise and resubmit accordingly. The above.
