差し上げ申し上げる一札の件

一、当村の石切の件について、村中残らず取り調べいたしましたところ、村方に一人もおりません。もしこの上も調査が不十分で、万一一人でもいた場合には、そちら様から御注進をいただき、その上でどのような御咎めを仰せ付けられましても、少しも御恨みはございません。後日の証明のため、連印いたし差し上げる一札です。よって件の通りです。

Document of Submission

Article One: Regarding the matter of stone cutters in our village, we have thoroughly investigated all residents of the village and found that there is not a single person engaged in this occupation in our village. Should our investigation prove insufficient and even one person be discovered, we will accept your notification of such discovery, and whatever punishment may be imposed upon us thereafter, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. As proof for future reference, we submit this jointly signed document.
