現代語訳
女護の島には亭主というものもなければ、女房というものもない。
皆南風によって身籠ることは人の知るところである。男がいなければ何もかも女がしなければならず、麦を作る女は日本にもいるが、米を作るのはない。

商人は皆そろばんを持って商売をする。
その土地の風習なので憎らしくもない。日本などでは「ご免」という白い物、どんな美しい女が商売をしても、よだれを垂らす者もなく、安くなれば売れず、女でいけば難しいこともあるのである。

英語訳
On the Island of Women, there are no husbands, nor are there wives.
It is well known that all women conceive by the southern wind. Since there are no men, women must do everything themselves. While there are women who grow wheat in Japan, there are none who grow rice.
