ふして心に叶す御辺外の礼腹【服の誤ヵ】を着し出候と
被申付重忠気量骨柄才人等勝れし故才智
を妬等なる重忠領掌て彼大紋の袖を畳

面々より其体殊に勝れてさわやかに出仕せり
因玆頼朝公も口をつくんて詞なし是よりして

袖を短くして心に叶う。御辺以外の礼服を着して出仕候と申し付けられ、重忠は気量・骨柄・才人等に優れし故、才智を妬む等なる者あり。重忠領承して彼の大紋の袖を畳み、平打ちして着し、翌日出仕有りしに、鎌倉出仕の面々より其の体殊に優れて爽やかに出仕せり。これに因り頼朝公も口をつぐんで詞なし。これよりして上下の肩衣、末世に至りその故実を用いるとかや。又は武田信玄の時も素襖は用い方に悪しきとて、
