引いて行かせようとしても、舎人が色々と言い訳をして「何度でも乗らせることはできない」として乗せず、清吉一人が駆けたため、季久の負けとなった。
【朱書き】季久の馬は正親町三条殿の馬であり、これは龍の御馬をお預かりしているということで、内緒でお借りしたものだった。そのため皆具以下の装備も立派なもので、実に目を驚かせるものであった。二十頭の中でも第一の馬であったのに、このような結果となった、云々
