(Continued from the previous page) — word came that there would be no objection to performing prayers (kitō), and a letter to this effect had been sent to the sataninshū (administrative officials/deputies). Accordingly, deliberations were held on various aspects of the plan for performing the prayers.
1. The eighth day. Overcast skies. This morning, deliberations were held regarding the prayers for His Highness the Prince. The details of the prayers are recorded in the general community daily record (sōchū hinami-ki).
2. On the night of the same day, the shrine officials (shashi) and ujibito held consultations. For details, see the general community daily record.
3. The ninth day. Alternately cloudy and clear. Early in the morning, Lord Gomi, Lord Nakabō Sakon, and Lord Gomi Kinjūrō arrived. 《Interlinear note: For details of the proceedings, see the general community daily record.》
4. The eleventh day. His Highness the Prince passed away (kōkyo, died — used for persons of imperial or princely rank). Accordingly, Suefuki and Genkyū were dispatched as envoys from the entire shrine community (sōchū) to offer their condolences at the three imperial residences: the Kinri (the imperial palace), the Sen'in (the retired emperor's palace), and the Chūgū (the empress's palace).
《Interlinear note (in red): Concerning the death of His Highness the Prince.》
