The ujibito (shrine clan members) present at this time were Atsunao, Hogaku, Shigenobu, Ujiyuki, and others.
*[Marginal note in red: Concerning the procedure for raising the pillars]*
1. The 1st day of the 7th month, the day of Kōshin, clear skies. At the Hour of the Dragon (approximately 8:00 a.m.), the pillar-raising ceremonies were held for both the Shingū and Wakamiya shrines, as well as for the rōmon (two-storied gate). At all three locations, the first pillar was raised from the artisan direction (northeast, *ushitora*), and then proceeded to the *inui* direction (northwest). Since three master carpenters (tōryō) were each in charge of their respective sites, the pillar-raising at all three locations took place on the same day and at the same hour.
1. The 4th day of the same month. Clear skies, with thunder and rain in the evening. Lord Gomi visited the Upper Shrine (Kamigamo Shrine), where shrine priests and ujibito were in attendance, and matters concerning the *kasen* (poetry gatherings) were discussed.
1. The 5th day of the same month. Clear skies. The details of today's ceremonies are recorded in the Sōchū-ki (General Records).
1. The 6th day. Clear skies. At the Hour of the Boar (approximately 10:00 p.m.), the temporary enshrinement ceremonies (*kari-sengū*) were conducted for the three shrines of Sugino-o, Hajino-o, and Yamano-o. *(Note: The officiant for the sengū was Mochiisa.)* The order was: first Sugino-o, then Hajino-o, then Yamano-o. Since a single officiant performed the ceremonies for all three shrines, the proceedings extended gradually to the lower part of the Hour of the Rat (approximately 1:00 a.m.), at which point the participants dispersed. The ujibito in attendance included Ichiaki and Ujigo of the Shatō-kō (shrine confraternity) and monthly duty officers, along with Hogaku; in addition, Kiyoari and others from the duty roster served in the *denkū* (relay-passing of sacred offerings and ritual objects).
1. The events of both the 7th and 8th days are recorded in the Sōchū Hinami-ki (General Daily Records).
1. The 12th day. First of all, from today until tomorrow, construction work (*saji*) is to be suspended for two or three days during the Bon festival period. *(Marginal note in red: According to the diary of Shūken, today 2 kanme were disbursed to the carpenter workers, 500 monme to the blacksmiths, and 50 monme to the polishers.)*
1. The 15th day. Clear skies. Notice was given by the magistrate (*bugyō*) to the timber merchant and the three master carpenters that workers would be brought in from the following day.
1. The 17th day. Clear skies. From today, the carpenters began work (construction resumed).
