《Procedure for the Temporary Relocation (Kaisen-za) of the Fugen [Bodhisattva] at the Kyōsho (Scripture Hall)》[Written in red]
Item: On the early morning of the 22nd day of the 9th month, at the Hour of the Tiger (approx. 3–5 a.m.), the Fugen Bodhisattva enshrined in the Kyōsho (Scripture Hall) is ceremonially relocated to the temporary shelter (kariya).
Six panels of white cloth curtains are hung on both sides of the path from the Main Hall to the temporary shelter.
The processional path (hikimichi) is lined with three rows of rush matting (komo), with white cloth laid along the central row as a bordered walkway.
First, the outer large zushi (miniature shrine cabinet) is moved ahead; then the ten statues of the Jūrari (the Ten Tathāgatas/Amida grouping) and the Eleven-Faced Kannon are transferred first.
After that, the Fugen Bodhisattva, together [with its attendants], is placed — still within the inner small御厨子 (o-zushi, miniature shrine cabinet) — upon a hand-palanquin (tegoshi), with seven-fold ceremonial vestments (shichijō-kesa) draped over the top of the cabinet.
A single rope of sen (fiber/cloth) is drawn from above the cabinet, with devotional verses (san) chanted on both sides and cymbals (nyōhachi) played as the procession advances.
The officiating priest for this relocation (senza-shi) is Ryōsenbō Okuin [name struck through with vertical red line in original]; the two assisting priests performing the ritual empowerment (kaji) are Minbu-kyō Yasukiyo and Hyōbu-kyō Okuichi [both names struck through with vertical red line in original].
These two kaji priests hold the sen rope.
The senza-shi and the two kaji priests walk upon the white cloth.
(Interlinear note: "It is said — perhaps [this refers to] mourning robes?")
All three wear hōgen vestments (robes of a hōgen-ranked ecclesiastic) and, over their white foot coverings (shitōzu), straw sandals (waraji).
