一、廿一日、天晴れ。森・松下・左馬助・長門守・木工允の五人が五味殿のところへ参上し、入札にされることは不都合（もったいない）なことであるので、とにかく社（賀茂社）の分については工数（手間賃）でお申し付けいただけるようにと、懇ろに申し入れたところ、承引なし（承諾しない）とのことであった。

一、廿三日、天晴れ、また時雨あり。雑掌・右衛門大夫が五味殿・烏丸殿のところへ、来る廿八日に木屋入り（材木の搬入・木屋への作業開始）を仕る由を申し上げに参上した。

一、廿五日、天晴れ。烏丸殿へ長門守・図書頭・粟津式部・久五卜の右四人が参上し、惣中の証文をすべて御覧に入れ申し上げた。
一、廿七日、右衛門大夫・木工允・森・松下・美作守・縫殿助、右の衆が五味殿のところへ出向き、明日木屋入りを仕る間、御奉行をいただけるようにと参上した。すなわち板倉殿へも右の通りお頼み申したと申したところ、五味殿の返答に「周州（周防殿）へはこちらから申し入れる。すなわち五味殿の下代（代理の者）も上らせる」とのことでお帰りになった。

Item: The 21st day, clear. Five individuals—Mori, Matsushita, Samanosuke, Nagato no Kami, and Mokuzō no Jō—visited Lord Gomi and earnestly petitioned that it would be improper and unreasonable for the work to be put out to competitive bidding (nyūsatsu), requesting instead that the shrine's portion be assigned on the basis of labor costs (kōsū). However, their request was not accepted.
Item: The 22nd day, clear.
Item: The 23rd day, clear, with occasional drizzle. The shrine administrator (zōshō) and Uemon no Taifu visited Lord Gomi and Lord Karasuma to report that the timber yard entry (kiyairi — the commencement of work at the timber yard) was scheduled for the 28th of the coming month.

Item: The 25th day, clear. Nagato no Kami, Zushō no Kami, Awazu Shikibu, and Kyūgoto — these four individuals — visited Lord Karasuma and presented all of the documents (shōmon) of the general assembly (sōchū) for his inspection.
Item: The 27th day. Uemon no Taifu, Mokuzō no Jō, Mori, Matsushita, Mimasaka no Kami, and Nuino no Suke — these individuals — called upon Lord Gomi, requesting that he serve as overseer (bugyō) for the timber yard entry scheduled for the following day. They also reported having made the same request to Lord Itakura. Lord Gomi responded that he would inform the Lord of Shūshū (Suō no Kami) from his side, and that he would also send his own deputy (shitai) up to the shrine. With that, the group departed.
