無之残長又諸職人は衣冠也上衣一ツ充可然歟
一 同廿二日天晴今日社頭若宮殿之儀之土居之上ノ木共ヲ
伐又高倉門之ケヤキヲモ伐
一 同日大工衆ゟ棟上之書立ヲ仕上ル則別紙ニ有之
於影堂指添寄合在之それゟ社司へみせられ
ける処ニ一段可然乍去自公儀御尋之時は又社司
中ゟも棟上之祝義共ヲモ先年ノヲみせ申へきよし也
一 同寄合社司ヨリ神宝￮（大形[朱]）尺且申候間惣中ゟ雑掌

申候間惣中ゟは先此方へ被見也一覧之後使者ヲ
可添之由にて三度迄沙汰人ヲ被遣候得共終無ニ承

現代語訳
一、若宮の後方を開くべきこと、同じく西の方を開くべきこと。
〈返事：堀の中に築地（土塀）を造ることができるならば、そのままにしておき、何かと内々に検討すること。杉（の木）は残した方がよかろう。〉
以上。また、この他に社司からの返事として、
一、権大工一人は束帯、ただし上の袴は裾まで（着用）。下襲はなく、残りは長（直衣様）。また、諸職人は衣冠とし、上衣を一つずつ（支給する）のがよかろうか。
一、同じく二十二日、天晴れ。今日、社頭若宮殿の儀のため、土居の上の木々を伐採し、また高倉門のケヤキをも伐採した。
一、同日、大工衆より棟上げの書き立て（仕様書）を仕上げた。すなわちそれが別紙にある。影堂において添え役を交えた寄合（集会）があり、そこから社司へ見せたところ、まことによい（一段と妥当である）とのことであった。しかし、公儀よりお尋ねがあった際には、また社司の中からも、棟上げの祝儀について先年のものを見せ申すべきとのことであった。
一、同寄合において、社司より神宝の（大形〔朱書〕）尺を申し述べられたので、惣中より雑掌を副えて、五味殿の下代（代理人）に同道させ、（神宝を）見せ申すべきとのことを申された。よって惣中からは、まずこちら（惣中）へご覧に入れるべきであり、一覧の後に使者を添えるべきとのことで、三度まで沙汰人（担当者）を遣わされたが、ついに承引（承諾）がなく、まず各々は退散した。
一、二十三日、天晴れ。今日、大工衆より、権社の下に土台を入れ、内々に引き移す（曳き家する）意向を訴訟（申し出）したが、社司衆が申されるには、「まずは堀（の方）が先（の問題）である」と……（次頁へ続く）

Item: The area behind the Wakamiya [Junior Shrine] should be opened up; likewise, the area to the west should be opened up.
〈Reply: If it is possible to construct an earthen wall (tsujiji) within the moat, it should be left as is for now, and the matter should be deliberated upon privately. It would be best to leave the cedar trees standing.〉
The above concludes [the formal items]. In addition, further replies from the shrine officials (shashi) were as follows:
Item: One of the Senior/Junior chief carpenters (gon-daiku) should wear formal court dress (sokutai), though the upper hakama need only extend to the hem; no under-robe (shitago) is required, and the remainder is long [in the style of a noshi]. The various craftsmen should wear court cap and robe (ikan), and it would seem appropriate to provide each with one outer garment.
Item: The twenty-second day, fine weather. Today, the trees on top of the earthen embankment (doi) belonging to the Wakamiya-den precinct were felled; the zelkova tree (keyaki) at the Takakura Gate was also felled.
Item: On the same day, the chief carpenters completed the written specifications (kakitate) for the ridgepole-raising ceremony. This document is contained in a separate sheet. A meeting was held at the Eidō [memorial hall], with assigned supervisors in attendance, and the document was then shown to the shrine officials, who found it to be entirely satisfactory. However, it was noted that should inquiries come from the public authorities (kōgi), the shrine officials should also be prepared to show the celebratory protocols from the ridgepole-raising of previous years.
Item: At the same meeting, the shrine officials stated that they wished to report the dimensions (shaku) of the sacred treasures (shinpō) [large type, in red]; accordingly, it was stated that a shrine administrator (zasshō) from the general assembly (sōchū) should accompany the deputy (shitodai) of Lord Gomi to show [the treasures]. The general assembly, however, held that [the sacred treasures] should first be shown to this side (the sōchū), and that an envoy should be attached after the viewing. Persons responsible for the matter (sadanin) were dispatched up to three times, but in the end no consent was obtained, and everyone dispersed for the time being.
Item: The twenty-third day, fine weather. Today, the chief carpenters petitioned that they intended to insert a foundation (dodai) beneath the Junior Shrine (gon-sha) and privately proceed with moving it (hiki-ya, i.e., relocating the building on rollers).
