英語訳

【Records from the 18th to the 23rd Day (Continued)】 Item: On the same day, the number of people who attended when Lord Gomi called is recorded in detail in the Hinami-ki (daily record). 《Regarding the Kakekado Corner Fittings and Wire》 [Written in red ink] Item: On the same day, at the midday meeting (yoriai), the cost (principal funds) for the wire to be used in the corner fittings (kakekado) was contributed by Nishiike Kamon-no-suke and Keiken. Details are recorded in the Hinami-ki. Item: The 19th day. Clear skies. Regarding the ceremony for the sacred treasures (shinpō), three individuals—Takahisa, Mochiisa, and Shūken—went to call upon Lord Gomi. [Supplementary note: Following this matter, there is an entry in an old record (kyūki) stating, "Who was the magistrate (bugyō) at the time of the Mori shrine construction in years past, and who was the estate manager (zassho) at that time?" When this old record was shown to Lord Gomi for his inspection, he reportedly said that the estate manager was truly a commendable individual. Note: As this written record is found in the diary of Suefuku, it has been transcribed here and incorporated into the Seishuki (official shrine record). [The note beginning with "按" (examination/commentary) is written in red ink.]] Item: On the evening of the same day, Lord Gomi came up on an inspection round. Item: The 20th day. Clear skies. A meeting was held in the morning. An announcement was made to the effect that, since the written communication from the Imperial Liaison (tensō) had reached Lord Itakura the day before yesterday, the matter concerning the sacred treasures had been largely settled by yesterday. The written communication from the Imperial Liaison is recorded in the Hinami-ki. Item: On the same day, the chief carpenter (daiku) was summoned and brought along the written document for the ridge-raising ceremony (jōtō) celebration, and it was instructed that he should accompany the group to Lord Gomi's on the following day. Item: The events of the 21st day are found in the Hinami-ki. Item: The 22nd day. Since the buildings inside the middle gate (chūmon) were scheduled to be erected in the near future, in order to dry out the old timber, the people of the local district (jige) were instructed to cut down and clear away the bamboo grove to the south of the well at the Goryōya (the shrine's administrative storehouse). Item: The 23rd day. The roots left from yesterday's clearing were dug up and the ground was leveled. Item: On the same day, starting from today, cypress bark (hiwada) was laid as roofing on the main shrine building.
