【Records from the 26th Day (continued) through the 1st Day of the 4th Month】
[Continued from previous page regarding the distribution of barrels:] The deputy master carpenters (gon-tōryō) each received two loads, and combined with the allocation for the two head carpenters (naga-tōryō), the total came to thirty loads.
Item: The 27th day. Clear skies. Regarding the matter of ceremonial costumes (shōzoku), a visit was made to Lord Gomi. Mochiisa, Ikuhisa, the zassho (administrative official; Hikosaku), and Bungo attended.
Item: The 28th day. Clear skies. An order form for the furnishings and implements to be brought in at the time of the shrine relocation ceremony (sengū), along with written documents regarding the costs of ceremonial robes (shōzoku) and court garments (hōi), were submitted to Lord Gomi. Mochiisa, Ikuhisa, and the zassho were in charge of this. (Details are to be found in the Hinami-ki [daily record].)
[Annotation in red ink:] According to the diary of Shūken, the Kaga-no-kami, the Saemon-no-jō, and two zassho officials attended and received two kan and five hundred me (monme). Of this, eight hundred me was allocated as the ceremonial costume expenses (shōzoku-ryō) for the eight shrine officials (shakkan), and two hundred and fifty-six monme was designated for the meal expenses (makanai) for the shrine administrators (shashi) during their period of ritual confinement (sanrō). The portion for the eight shrine administrators was left in the care of Lord Kyūi Kihei, and the remaining one kan and forty-four monme was collected and they returned—so it is recorded.
Item: The 29th day. [No entry.]
Item: The 1st day of the 4th month. Clear in the morning, rain in the evening. Today, it was directed that a hosodono (a long, narrow building) be added to the area where the artist is to paint.
Item: On the same day, the arrangement of the cypress bark (hiwada) for the roofing was carried out.
Item: On the evening of the same day, Lord Gomi arrived. Those who had been on the return journey from attending the divine festival (goshin-sai) at Kibune Shrine (Kifune-no-miya) gathered [to meet with him]. The zassho attended, but the shrine administrators (shashi) did not attend.
Item: On the evening of the same day, a messenger was sent from the shrine administrators (shashi) to the community of clan members (ujibito-chū). The details of the message were as follows: when preparing the divine garments (go-shinpuku) and other items, the morning meal for the senior female attendants in charge of the divine robes (o-fuku-jōrō) would be provided by the shrine administration office (shamu), and the evening meal would be provided by the deputy administrator (mokudai-daifu); accordingly, everyone was to be aware of this arrangement. Furthermore, there was a request from the entire shrine community (sōchū) directing that firewood for the shrine administrators during their period of ritual confinement (sanrō) be arranged. Details of the menu presented to the senior female attendants in charge of the divine robes are recorded in the sōchū records.
Item: Today, the divine ceremonial robes (o-shōzoku) were completed and delivered by the craftsmen, and were therefore placed in the care of the Mori household (Mori-ke).
