Among the ujibito (shrine clan members) present were: Katahisa, Suetake, Kiyomochi, Naohisa (as written in the original), Ujimori, Kanenobu, Atsunaō, Tomonaō, Yasugaku, Ujifuyu, Yasueda, Toshinaō, and Ujiaki — along with several other persons who attended in service. 1. On the same day, the groundwork (earthwork/foundation) on the south side of the Takakura storehouse was carried out using laborers (ninsoku) from the local area. The details are as follows: instructions had been issued to build the Takakura at seven ken (間, approximately 12.7 meters), but as the ground space was insufficient, it was ordered to be reduced to six ken; even so, as the space remained insufficient, the carpenters were told to reduce it further to five ken. The carpenters, however, replied that what had already been built could not be cut down arbitrarily. It was then deliberated and decided that the southern corridor (kairō) should be narrowed, and the Takakura should be set flush with the eaves of the corridor. Today, the groundwork for this arrangement was carried out. During this period, the investigation (senzaku) of the Takakura's placement had remained unsettled for several days, with repeated communications (tsuketodoke) back and forth. 2. The first day of the sixth month: the general local inhabitants (sō-jikabito) were made to carry out the groundwork for the tower gate (rōmon). 3. The second day of the same month. Alternately cloudy and clear, with rain. On the day of jinshin (壬辰), at the hour of the monkey (saru-no-koku, approximately 4:00 p.m.), the Main Shrine was pulled back (hiki-sha, i.e., the shrine building was ritually moved/slid backward). The shrine officials (shashi) and ujibito each attended in service. 《Interlinear note: Attire of formal court robes (hōi) or pure-white ceremonial robes (jōe), at individual discretion.》 Before the hour of the monkey, a gathering was held at the norishi's (祝方) quarters (goryōya) to deliberate on matters concerning the shrine. 《Interlinear note: The conclusions of the deliberation are recorded in detail in the daily record (hinami-ki).》 Around the hour of the monkey, the general local inhabitants operated the capstans (rokuro, pulley mechanisms) and applied levers (teko). Several tens of shrine servants (jinin) 《Interlinear note: wearing yellow robes (kōe) and carrying sakaki branches》 led the chant (ondo) up to the rear edge of the shrine building, while the tōne (刀禰, lower-ranking shrine officials) 《Interlinear note: wearing white robes (shirokoromo)》 led the chant from the front of the shrine building, and the general parishioners (sō-hyakushō) pulled the shrine. The shrine officials (shashi), ujibito, and the deputy magistrates (go-shita-bugyō) — Lords Enami Shichirōemon and Ichirōemon — took positions on higher ground, gave directions (gechō), and observed the proceedings. In addition, people of all ranks — noble and common, men and women — from the local area came to worship and pay their respects.
