申有合の穀少〻売出し申といへ共ざんじ
に画て亦本の如く次第〳〵に高直に成し
かば万人飢に及はんとす於＿レ之村々騒動に
及び信州上州両国にて穀を囲￣フ物共を
打潰し穀物を奪取憤りを晴さんと九
月廿九日の夜松井田の東に勢揃ひして
評儀をなし然共此騒動は天狗愚寅の
なす処なればさしたる大将もなき故法と
する事も勿れは天勢を大将として乱心に寄集
る処凡八百餘人唯掛引する者もなく磯辺
村須頭丈助米穀百積程買締隠しおく
聞へ有迚｜驀直（マツシクラ）に押寄戸障子襖みぢん
に打｜壞（ヤフ）り土蔵の戸前打砕き夫ゟ直￣クに
板鼻宿へ立越こくや義にゟ伊八同く打潰し
けれ共さしもの大勢以の外荒ひければ
散る手指するものもあらずして天にも上る
現代語訳
手持ちの穀物を少しばかり売り出したとはいえ、すぐにまた元のように次第に値が上がっていったので、万人が飢饉に及ぼうとした。これにより村々は騒動に及び、信州・上州の両国において穀物を囲い込んでいる者どもを打ち潰し、穀物を奪い取って憤りを晴らそうと、九月二十九日の夜、松井田の東に勢揃いして評議を行った。しかしながら、この騒動は天狗・愚寅のなすところであるから、これといった大将もいない。そのため、規律もなく、天の勢いを大将として乱心して集まった者は凡そ八百余人。ただ統率する者もなく、磯部村の須頭丈助が米穀百俵ほどを買い占めて隠し置いているという噂があるとして、まっしぐらに押し寄せ、戸・障子・襖を木っ端みじんに打ち壊し、土蔵の戸前を打ち砕いた。それからそのまま板鼻宿へと立ち越え、穀物屋の義兵衛・伊八を同様に打ち潰した。それほどの大勢が思いのほか荒々しく振る舞ったため、止めに入る者もなく、天にも上る（ほどの勢いであった）。

Although they had sold off a small amount of their stockpiled grain, prices soon rose again just as before, and it seemed as though the entire populace would be driven to starvation. As a result, unrest spread through the villages, and on the night of the 29th day of the 9th month, people gathered in force to the east of Matsuida to hold a council, intending to destroy those who had hoarded grain in both Shinshū and Jōshū provinces and to seize the grain, thereby venting their fury. However, since this disturbance was the work of tengu and foolish troublemakers, there was no proper commander. Without order or discipline, those who gathered, driven by a kind of collective frenzy with Heaven's momentum as their only leader, numbered roughly eight hundred or more. With no one to direct or restrain them, they descended upon Isobe Village on the grounds that a man named Sutō Jōsuke was reported to have hoarded and hidden approximately one hundred bales of rice and grain. They stormed straight in, smashing doors, sliding paper screens, and fusuma screens to splinters, and broke down the doors of the storehouse. From there, they moved directly to Itahana post-town, where they similarly destroyed the grain dealers Gihē and Ihachi. Such a large crowd, behaving more violently than anyone had expected, left no one able to stop them, and their spirits soared to the heavens.
